Chapter 7

"Calum what do you want to do when you grow up?"

"I love football and i guess i want to be a football player and travel the world. how about you"

"I dont really know, i am after all, only 8 years old."

"Yeah i forgot that, well you have a long journey ahead of you, that's what mali always say to me"

"Who's mali?"

"She's my sister. I love her dearly"

"Wow i wish my sister was that nice"

"Why?"

"My sister is always learning, she doesnt have time for me. My mother said that she's learning so hard so that she could get a good job and acheive her dreams one day."

"How about you? When you grow up do you wanna acheive your dreams like your sister?"

"I dont know what do you think?"

"If it was me, i rather face my fears first, then acheive my dreams"

I cant believe it! Im in the sky and i didnt even noticed it. Oh my god.

"Stop smiling you'll fracture your cheekbones" mr grumpy said whilst closing his eyes.

"Atleast i can smile unlike someone" i muttered to myself.

I wanted to argue with him so much. But the fact that he made me forgot about my fear, that really took a toll on me. Maybe i should apologized to him? What am i saying! I just did and he ignored me. But well atleast say thank you right?

"Hey um thanks by the way for just now" i said nervously.

With those words out of my system , he opened his eyes and said "it wasnt much but sure okay yada yada now dont talk to me"

My jaw dropped. This guy really knows how to make my blood boil. Like seriously. I ignored his rude remark and looked out the window. I remembered when i was younger where there's this boy i couldnt recall his name, he was super nice. I missed him. I missed the adventure we had . I remembered talking about it to every single person i know. I wonder how he's doing now.

I smiled at the memories and god i wish i could turn back time.

After a few minutes later, since it was night time at australia, everyone was asleep well except for the blonde, his rude girlfriend, me and mr grumpy.

I was reading some work i brought along. Then i figured, yes i kind off do understand what my sister felt now. I kept on doing my research until i heard a giggle from the couple infront of me.

"Babe stop it! We're in public for godsakes"

"But baby"

"I want to go to the toilet for a while okay"

"Stay there longer and i'll be there"

"Cant you guys wait till we get to the hotel goddamnit. Some of us need to live" Mr Grumpy interupt.

The girl's head popped out and glared at mr grumpy.

"Ugh shut up calum, you're just jealous, you wish someone would love you but no one would. Infact serves you right. You couldve have all this but you were too ignorant. Too..."

This girl really does know how to get on mr grumpy's badside. "Hey would you mind? I cant really focus" i butted.

"Ugh would you look at that, miss annoying, i can see why calum doesnt want to sit beside you.. And oh dear are you doing homework?"

"Atleast she has a work unlike someone"

"Fuck you hood"

"Im sorry but never in a million years"

"Whatever unlike you, luke deserves my attention." She walks off to god knows where.

When i was looking at her go. Mr grumpy decided to break the silence between us.

"I know what you tried to do just now. And thank you" he said while looking at me.

"I dont know what you're saying but thanks for backing me up." I said while my eyes are focused onto the words on my book.

"Since the flight would take hours, and im lonely as fuck like what the bloody rat said, let's try to be civil" he randomly said.

I laughed hoping that he'll join too but instead he gave a serious look.

"Oh you're not joking, wait what?"

"You owe me and i owe you so i say we're even," he said.

"Um im sorry what? Sorry but thats not how people usually make friends" i chuckled. You seriously cant make eye contact with this guy. I keep reminding myself that he's a jerk a beautiful jerk but he's still a jerk!

"Oh come on this is how normal people make friends, since you already know my name whats yours?" He suddenly became interested. What is wrong with this guy? Bipolar perhaps?

"Um sorry but i dont recall you introducing yourself before, instead all i heard is 'OMG YOU AGAIN' 'i dont like you' 'stop talking to me yada yada'" i tried to mimick him.

"Are you being serious?"

"What?"

"You dont know me?" He raised those caterpillar eyebrows.

"Nope" okay thats a lie because i did heard some of his friends calling his name but i want a proper introduction from him.

"Well then 'miss annoying' my name is Calum, Calum Hood" wait why does that name sound so familiar?

"Nice to meet you Calum, my name is Mare Anne, but you can call me Mare"

And finally after a few hours sitting near him, this is actually the first time i saw him smile.
