Adrien P.O.V
"Mari, wait." I said, but she just kept walking. I closed my eyes and threw my head back. "I don't blame her." Nino said as he walked into the house like an idiot with sunburn.
"Is nobody on my side?" I groaned and slammed the car door shut. "Okay chill first of all. Now why do you hate him?" Alya asked and sat down on tge curb with me.
Nino brought me a beer. I took a swig and a deep breath. "Okay so it started junior year of high school." I started.
"Me and Marinette had been dating for almost 3 years. Nathaniel decided that he had had enough of me and decided to take Marinette from me." I sighed.
"Okay . . . So where is this going?" Alya asked and layed back. "You don't understand what Nathaniel was capable of. He may have seemed sweet and innocent, but when it came to wooing mari, he would have done literally anything to get her." I explained.
"How do you know that?" She asked. I swallowed. I hated this story. Every last part of it put me in agony.
"One day I found one of his sketch books in the hall way. It had endless pictures of him and Marinette. Some were just drawings of him and her as a couple. Others were of me and how he would destroy everything I was or will be." I started. I felt like I was about to cry.
"They're just drawings, what's the big deal?" She asked and looked me in the eyes. "You don't understand. Not even in the slightest." I began again.
"In the back, there were countless pictures of him and Mari-" I stopped myself. "I can't do it. I'm sorry. Just . . . Just come here." I daid and helped her to her feet.
We went upstairs into the bedroom. I unscrewed one of the air vents. In it was a box that said 'do not open under any circumstances'.
I removed the lid and handed her the sketchbook. I walked to the other side of the large room. I couldn't look at it. Just the thought of it made me want to punch a wall.
"This is . . . This is just, I don't even know, what is this? How can you not have told her about this?" She asked, slightky infuriated. "How fo I tell her about a sketch book with ons of drawings of her doing Nathaniel?" I asked in an angry tone.
"Well you need to! She has plans with him the day after tomarrow!" She said calmly. "What?!" I yelled. Nino came into the room. "Are you guys okay?" He asked and poked his head through the door.
"Can I show him?" Alya asked. I nodded and put my hands behind my head. He flipped through the book. "We need to find her and tell her about this, like IMMEDIATELY." Nino said and walked out the door.
I took the book from Alya and stuffed it in my pocket. We all ran out of the door.
"Okay, so where would she be?" Alya asked in panic. "There are 3 possibilities. Forest, bakery and," I stopped. "And what?" Nino asked. "Nathaniels." I cringed.
"Okay. Perfect. 3 places 3 of us. I'll take the bakery, nino will take the forest and you will obviously take Nathaniels apartment." Alya said and clapped her hands together a single time.
We parted ways. I went to my mortal enemies place. It was traitorous. I knocked on the door. It took a minute but he opened it.
"Hello, is Marinette here?" I asked nicely with a smile. "No, why?" He asked. I wasn't convinced. "Liar. I hear crying." I said monotone and opened up the door.
She was sitting on his black couch holding a small dog. "What do you want, Adrien?" She asked frustrated. "Oh nothong. Was just wondering if he ever showed you . . . This." I asked sarcastically and pulled the leather sketchbook out of my pocket and handed it to her.
"What is this?" She sniffled. "It's nothing. He stole it from me." Nathaniel said defensively. "I found it in the hall way junior year. This is why I hate your guts." I responded and folded my arms.
"I've already seen this. He's been doing this since like 3rd grade." She said and wiped her eyes. "Did you haopen to look in the back?" I asked. She glanced from me back to the book.
"I don't think this is such a good idea." He laughed nervously. She flipped through it. "What is this?" She asked. She was scared. It was so obvious.
I watched her stand up and set the dog on the floor. She walked over and stood behind me like a littke kid on the 1st day of school. "I never thought you would see it. I'm sorry." He pleaded for her forgiveness.
"No. Stay away from me." She said. I held her behind me. We backed out of the door way and I picked her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist and nuzzled her nose into my neck.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry. I love you. I should have never doubted you." She mumbled. I felt the tears drip down her face. "Hey, it's okay. I should have told you. I love you, Marinette." I whispered and kissed the side of her head.
I carried her all of the way home. I felt her breathing slow, she was asleep. When I got back to the house, Alya and Nino were waiting on the couch.
"Hey you found her!" Nino yelled. I put my inde finger on my lips. 'She's sleeping.' I mouthed. I set her on the couch and went into the kitchen.
"What time is it?" I asked and grabbed a water bottle. Nino glanced at his watch. "About 10 pm."
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna go home and go to bed. I'm beat!" Alya exclaimed and started towards the door. Nino winked and followed her out.
I walked over to the couch and layed behind Mari. I wrapped us up in a soft purple blanket. "Good night, kitty." I heard her mumble.
"Good night princess." I whispered back and kissed her forehead. I set my arms around her waist and pulled her closer. She turned around and put her head on my chest.
I put my hand on the back of her head. Before I knew it, I was out cold.
