A loud noise filled the theater. Mari screamed as she jolted up and fell to the floor.

"Nino what the heck!" She yelled and covered her ears. She sat up and put her back against my legs.

"I can't hear anything other than ringing!" She whispered. "Nino, I told you not to!" I said, irritated.

I helped her to her feet and picked her up. "Come on lets go." I said and started walking out of the theater.

"I planned to go to the zoo . . . Are we still up to that or not?" Alya asked. "I quess it's up to Mari." I answered.

"Yah, I love the zoo." She responded and nuzzled her nose into my neck. "Okay, come on." Alya said, motioning her arms towards the exit.

"Why are you always carrying her?" Nino asked me. "She's like 10 pounds and adorable, why would I not? It's kinda like carrying around a puppy." I resonded.

"Nino's right, you treat her like a 5 year-old." Alya pointed out. "Not completely true," I said with a smirk and a giggle.

Mari and Nino started laughing. "That's disgusting!" Alya shouted and punched me in the shoulder.

"Why do you care? You aren't so inocent yourself." I said and glared at Alya. She was annoyed, but it was funny

"What I do is none of your business." Alya said and folded her arms angrily. "Well then how I treat my girlfriend is none of your business." I responded in a cocky tone.

"Stop picking fights, Adrien!" Mari yelled silently from the crook of my neck.

"How much farther is the zoo?!" Nino whined and pulled on Alya's sleeve. "It's like 10 more minutes of walking, calm down." I said and rolled my eyes.

We arrived at the zoo, it was weird, there were almost no people around. Usually there are hundreds of people just at the front gate.

"Where is every one?" I asked and set Marinette down. "I have no idea, is it closed?" Alya asked and looked around.

"No, all of the lights are on and the gate is open." Nino answered and glanced around the corner. All of the animals were there, out and about.

There was a loud crash and a what sounded like a thousand screams. A building was collapsing.

I looked over at Mari, giving her an 'akuma attack' look

I sighed. She opened her small purse and quickly summoned her kwami.

She engulfed in a rosey pink light, and suddenly she was my partner in the fight for humanity.

We ran over to the building, grabbing people before they hit the ground. It completely crashed and there were only bits and pieces of building on the ground. There was a big wall still up, but I wouldn't count on its stability.

Dust was everywhere. We started grabbing people from the rubble. "I think that's it." I yelled to LB. She darted her eyes around. "Theres one more," she yelled and we made our way over to te victim.

Marinette P.O.V

"Are you okay?" I asked and helped the woman to her feet. She dusted herself off. "Yah, I'm fine." She said. I gave a sly smile.

"I am sorry though," she said and stared me in the eyes. I gave a confused look. "For what?" I asked.

"This." She replied as her eyes teared up. I had absolutely no idea what was happening, until it suddenly made sense.

I glanced down there was an arrow through my stomach. I looked back at the woman.

"She said the only way that I could save my children was to distract you." She said. A tear rolled down her face. "It's okay, I swear." I said, and grabbed her upper arm.
