20 | Heat

          I sighed when Mathews arms surrounded me as we laid on my bed. Everything seemed surreal, everything was so peaceful it was actually hard to believe what had happened and it had only been two weeks. But the most amazing part was that I had shifted for the first time. I smiled at the thought of my fathers face when he saw me. I know it wasn't easy for him to accept that I was now the 'Alpha' and that my mate belonged to another pack, but things felt right. I wouldn't change a thing.

"What are you thinking?" Matt asked, kissing my temple.

"About everything." I tilted my head up and crossed my arms behind his neck. "About you." I pressed my mouth against his, our lips and tongues melting with lust. I guess the fact that I had shifted, triggered my natural instinct of wanting to reproduce, because I had been in heat for the last three days. And I thanked Mathew for resisting because damn!, my wolf was naughty.

"Serena!" Mathew groaned as he separated, taking a deep breath. I chuckled at his reaction and kissed his neck, leaving a trail until I reached his pec. Rip his clothes, kiss him, take...

I blushed at my wolfs thoughts. This was a side of me that I had never explored before and although I really wanted to, I wasn't sure if I was ready just yet.

"I'm sorry." I apologized and pecked his lips, not being able to stop. "It's just, I feel this..." I kissed him hard again, to show him. I could feel the heat slowly spreading through my body. His hands grabbed my hips and my body hovered over his, as we kissed. I could feel him, his wolf, everything.

I grind my hips and moaned. His lips started kissing my neck as his hands moved upward to my breasts. "Mathew." I gasped and in seconds I was on the other side of the room, leaning against the wall.

He was looking at me with so much lust, the only thing on my mind was getting back to the bed and finish what we had started, but I knew better. I walked to him and sat on his lap as we both relaxed from the heat.

"We need to be careful." He said in my ear as I hugged him.

"I know." If we completed the mate bond, I knew it wouldn't take much for me to fall pregnant with Mathews pups. And I was too young, too new in this 'Luna' job I had and Matt was aware of it.

I wanted to have a family with Matt, but I wasn't ready. And for now I had to make worthy the time we had, because if I wanted Mathew to lead this pack with me we needed to complete the mating process one way or another.

       I walked towards my father's cell. He was sitting against the wall and the moment his eyes met mine a deep scowl took over his face.

"Dad." I said as I came close, but never opening the cell. "Are you okay?"

He laughed and answered. "You have me in a cell and ask me if I'm okay. Well? I'm not."

"You know that's not what I mean." I know he is pretending not know what I'm really asking, and I think it is because he is hurt. Yeah, I took from him the Alpha title in not the best way but hey, he was going to kill my mate.

"Well, I'm sorry." I apologized honestly. "For everything that happened and I hope one day you forgive me, but I couldn't let you kill him."

"You don't understand, I did this for you. Serena you are too young to know about all the danger that is out there."

"What are you talking about? So killing Mathew is the way for me to learn?" I asked incredulously and he stood up, walking until his body was pressed against the bars.

"No, killing him was going to change your decision. You would have chosen Liam as your mate. That Beta is smart and would have made a better job as the Alpha than you. At least he knows how to fight. No, but you saved your precious intruder and I'm sure he will bring nothing but danger to this pack." He spit and I growled.

My wolf mad at my father's words of disrespect to our mate.

"Don't ever disrespect Mathew that way."

"I don't need to respect him, he is not my Alpha." He said and I wanted to argue, but I knew he was right. Mathew was only my mate by heart. "You don't have his bite and your scent hasn't change either so I'm guessing you haven't completed the mating process. Well good, I'm sure Liam will take you back."

I looked at the ground defeated. He was right, Mathew couldn't not be called part of this pack yet and all I wanted to do was prove my father wrong. I wanted to prove him Mathew would be the best Alpha this pack had.

"Well I hope you enjoy disappointment, because once Mathew and I complete the process we'll unite our packs. And you my father, won't have a place in it until you acknowledge our union."

I turned around, ready to walk away. I couldn't  believe that man was my father. He had no love for me at all, but I didn't care. The people around me, Mathew, Liam, Leila, were  the only family I needed.

"I hope you know what you are doing Serena." He muttered before I left.

⌘ ⌘ ⌘

     "Hey." Mathew greeted me when I entered the pack house. He was waiting for me and I gladly jumped into his arms, his scent calming me. "How was today?"

I sighed, thinking whether telling him what my father said or not. I had been thinking about it all the way back from there.

"Peachy." I replied, standing on my tiptoes and pulling his face closer. He pressed his lips against mine and I smiled. This was the best part of coming home, no more secrets, no more sneaking around. I crossed my arms around his neck and he pulled my body against his. "I missed you."

He growled softly in response and I grinned. I looked up to him and I knew it's now or never. I had this idea in my head, but I was not sure if it's the best, even when I knew I had to complete the mating process with Mathew. I knew he was trying to be patient, but I saw the worry on his face everyday. His family and pack was unprotected at the moment, without his Alpha while he was here with me and I wouldn't allow that anymore. If we were going to this, we would do it right and together.

"Mathew." I whispered against his lips. "Take me to bed."

His eyes widened in surprise and he backed away, as if he wanted to rectify what I just said was real.

"Are..what?" He asked and I repeated the words as my lips left kisses all over his jaw.

"Serena." He growled before his lips pressed against mine in a heated kiss, a mess of tongues and lust. He grabbed me behind my thighs and hiked me up. We separated for a second and when he saw the decision in my eyes, he walked us to our bedroom. I loved him, and in his arms I wasn't afraid of anything. Even better, I would finally be his.
