I whined in pain and looked at Michael, whose body laid not far from me. He wasn't moving, but his chest was and that was all I needed to know he was still alive. Ben took me by my arm and threw me over his shoulder. I gasped and tried to lose his grip but it was useless. My body hurt where the glass had sliced my skin.

"Come on Serena. It's time for you to see what you lost by not choosing me."

As we walked out of the room I noticed Michael watching me with fearful eyes and I knew one way or another Mathew would know where I was. It wouldn't take long before what I feared the most happened.

"Serena, wake up!" Ben's voice made my eyes flutter. I was laid on the ground and nothing but trees surrounded us. His face was a couple of inches away from mine as he studied me. I narrowed my eyes at him and growled. He smirked. "Fierce, I like it."

"Who are you?" I blurted as I watched what was left of my best friend. His smile wiped out from his face and was replaced by a serious expression.

"What you forced me to be." He replied.

"But Ben, I.."

"No! You listen Serena. Do you know how I felt when you chose someone else over me?" He growled and stood up from the kneeling position. "I was your best friend, I've known you for years. Loved you for as long as I can remember but you didn't care. You tossed me off like if I was nothing."

He turned around and I noticed tears in his eyes. I twinge of guilt took over me. What he was doing was wrong but maybe he was right about what he had said. I never stopped to think about how he felt. I've always knew he had felt something more than friendship but I never expected to be this much, at least enough to bring him to the edge.

"I'm sorry." I whispered. "You're right. What I did was wrong, but Ben he is my true mate. You don't know what it feels like to found who you are destined to be with for the rest of your life. I can not explain the pull, it's beyond anything I ever imagined. Mathew wasn't my choice, it was meant to happen."

"That's were you are wrong." He said. "You could have rejected him and chosen me, but you didn't." He gave me a frightening look I'd never seen in him and removed his clothes, ready to shift. "Now, let's see what fate has for you. I'll guess it won't take long for your mate to be here, then we'll know if it was really meant to be."

Mathew's POV

"How are you?" I asked Michael as one of the nurses cleaned his wounds.

"I'll be alright, I think there are other things you should be more worried of." He replied and I knew what he meant. Serena. My wolf and body already missed her and I knew who had taken her, but I couldn't do much with what she was doing. She was blocking me, trying to protect me. I figured it out when I wasn't able to mind link her. Argh! I loved that girl, but she was stubborn as hell. I would find her, and I think I knew just how. I only hoped it worked.

"I know. Michael, I'll bring her back and I know it won't be easy so I need you to promise me something. If I don't come back, please take care of her and our pack. Pa, will help you okay?"

My brother stared at me as if I had grown another head, but nodded. I hugged him carefully and turned away. Before I left the room, I heard him say. "You'll be back Matty."

When I entered the dungeons, the guards where surprised to see me but quickly helped me with what I requested. And here I was, facing Serena's father. He didn't even look up, just kept staring at the wall.

"Sir, I need your help." He laughed and didn't say anything else. "Please, it is an urgent matter."

"And why would I want to help you boy? You brought my pack and my daughter against me."

I knew this wouldn't be easy, but it wouldn't take much to convince him. He cared too much, he just pretended to have a hard shell. Just like me.

"Because Serena has disappeared."

"What? Did you scared her off already?"

I took a deep breath and tried to calm down. "Sorry, let me rephrase that. She was kidnapped and I don't how much time the wolf who goes by Ben, is gonna wait until he kills her."

The man's eyes gazed at me with an unreadable expression. He stood up and reached the bars of the cell.  "What are you talking about?"

"You heard me and I hope that despite our differences you'll help me." He looked as if he was struggling with what he wanted to say. "This is no different than when your mate was murdered. So I ask for your help, because this time is your daughter and Luna that you can lose."

Serena had told me before about her mother and how that had destroyed her father. How it had changed him, so I knew this was my only weapon against him. She was his daughter after all, and maybe he would understand I didn't want to lose my mate either.

"You're wrong. My mate was killed by a rogue who had no reason to. But this, this is different. That wolf took the wrong girl." He stated.

I held back my grin as we both looked at each other. Alpha to Alpha, already plotting in our minds how to rescue Serena.
