Chapter 17

"Gi...."

"Yeah? Alli, babe, what's wrong?"

"Can I stay with you for a while?"

"Yeah. Of course. Are you okay?"

I paused. "I'll talk about it later. When I get there".

"Well, okay. I'll see you soon then".

"Bye Gigi"

I hung up the phone.

Why? Why was I doing this? Was I insane? I literally just dumped the most amazing man in the world. And for what? Not a single thing. I think I was insane.

I cried the whole night as I drove. I knew I should've just turned around and gone back to him. And I started a few times, but I always went back on my way.

I regretted what I did so much, but I felt like it was right. Actually I didn't. I thought I felt like it was right. And I sure hoped it was.

I drove for a long, long time before I reached Gigi's house. It was four in the morning.

I let myself in and passed out on her couch.

I woke up. I was so confused as to where I was.

"Charlie? Are you there?"

I heard Gigi laugh and she came out.

"Nope. Sorry to disappoint, but it's just me."

I shot up and hugged her. "Sorry. I just forgot I guess."

"That's okay, babe. Here, eat something".

I ate slowly. She looked at me, expectantly.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, what happened?"

"Oh", I chuckled.

"What'd he do this time?" She asked.

"Actually Gi, nothing. Not a single thing."

Her face dropped. "So you're telling me that you broke up with the hottest, most amazing boyfriend ever, because you could?"

"No. It... just didn't feel right. He was too perfect for me. We both know I'm not innocent."

"And he's not either", she reminded me.

"Right. But, he's too perfect. He's so amazing to me and I just cause fights. He's way too good for me".

"But don't you want someone who is strong enough to lift you up? He loves you. He doesn't care how much you fight. He doesn't care if you deserve him. Because you're priceless in his sight."

"Gigi, please respect my decision, even if you don't agree with it".

"Normally, I would. But I know this is not what you want. You're going to regret it."

"But until then, I'm fine."

She sighed.

"Alli, you're breaking your own heart. And not to mention, his. Doesn't that mean anything to you?"

"Gigi. I'm sorry, but I've made my decision".

I started crying suddenly.

"Alli, what is it?"

"When I was saying goodbye, I saw........"
