Chapter 9

"What makes you think that, Chan?" Joshua asked.
"Well, I heard shouting from the other side of the door so I assume that she might be in danger," Dino replied to the gentleman.
"Should we go there and rescue her?" Seungkwan suggested.
"A man was there and ordered me to leave. Why don't we ask Seungcheol hyung if he heard anything from the man," Dino said. 
"Wait, there was a man?" Jeonghan asked and the maknae nodded. 
"Cheol told me about a man who saved Ayeon from slipping at work. Maybe it was the same man," Jeonghan said. 
"But, that's impossible! I was there when Seungcheol hyung told you about the man. How can the same man do that to Ayeon?" Jun said. 
"There's a thing called two-face, Junhui. He may seem like a nice person in the public's eye but in closed doors, he is an abuser," Jeonghan explained. 
"What's an abuser?" THE8 asked and Hoshi explained it slowly for the younger one to understand. 
"We need to save her. She could be in much more pain than we think," Mingyu said. 
"Should we ask Seungcheol hyung if it was the same man that he saw at the cafe?" Dino suggested. 
"I'll go ask him," Jeonghan said and left the room. 

Jeonghan entered their shared bedroom and saw their leader on his phone with his back facing the angel. He noticed that he was trying to call Ashley but failed to do so. 

"Seungcheol? Do you have a minute?" Jeonghan asked and the leader sat up hearing the angel's voice but didn't bother to turn around and face the younger. 
"You were at Ayeon's apartment, right? Was the man that Chan saw the same man that you saw at the cafe?" Jeonghan asked and the leader didn't reply. 
"Cheol, I really need you to tell me so that we can help you save Ayeon. If it's okay, can you tell me?" Jeonghan said, not giving up. 
"Yeah... it's the same guy..." Seungcheol said quietly as if he was trying to suppress his urge to cry.
"Thanks, Cheol," Jeonghan said and patted the leader's shoulder before leaving the room. 

The members awaited the angel's return and Jeonghan sat in between Mingyu and Wonwoo. 

"So?" Joshua asked.
"Yeah, it's the same guy. He didn't want to say it at first but he gave in," Jeonghan said.
"So, all we know is that the guy that saved Ayeon from slipping is the same guy that is currently abusing her," Hoshi said.
"How are we going to save her if Ayeon is trapped in there? We can't just simply enter her apartment to take her away. The guy looks much stronger than Seungcheol hyung," Dino said. 
"Why don't we try the surveillance cameras? There are a lot in every apartment floor. If we can find the one that is inside Ayeon's apartment, we can arrest the man and Ayeon will be free," Wonwoo suggested.
"It's worth the shot," Joshua agreed and the other members did the same. 

Hoshi and Woozi went to the reception counter and asked for the surveillance camera footage inside Ayeon's apartment. 

"I'm sorry but a man came weeks ago to request for the surveillance camera inside the apartment to be taken down. For what reason, I'm not sure," The security guard said. 
"Did the man happened to live in this apartment as well?" Woozi asked. 
"The man came in early this afternoon with Ayeon. It seemed like it was the same man that requested the camera to be taken down," The security guard replied. 
"I thought you were not allowed to take down surveillance cameras no matter what the reason," Hoshi said. 
"The man was carrying dozens of thousand wons in his pockets. He gave me 120 00 000 won to take the camera down. What an offer!" The security guard said, feeling proud. 
"Did anything happened before the man came in?" Woozi asked. 
"As in?" 
"Like some people making a few adjustments in Ayeon's apartment?" Woozi said. 
"There were a few people that came to make a few adjustments in Ayeon's apartments. I couldn't recall all of them but there were a few technicians and the same man went to her apartment two days before the man moved in," The security guard said. 
"Then, if the man leaves the apartment building, would it be okay if you give us a call?" Woozi asked and the guard nodded. Woozi gave the guard his number and the two thanked the guard before leaving the reception counter.
