"Mommy, is that man... Daddy?"
Napalingon naman kami ni Ysabel kay Louie. Nasa backseat silang dalawa ni Louis, at kami ang nasa harap habang nagdadrive si Ysa. Nagkatinginan muna kami bago ako lumingon sa kanila.
"What if he is?" Kita ko ang pagsulyap sa akin ni Ysa kaya umiling ako. Alam kp ang ginagawa ko. There's nothing to hide, malalaman din naman nila iyon e.
But I didn't expect the reaction I got from them...
"Are you really sure about this, Maria Luxielle Cynder Chua?" Sinamaan ko naman siya ng tingin. Talagang binuo ang pangalan ko e. "You've seen and heard their reactions, wala na 'tong atrasan?"
As much as I want to back out, hindi ko na magawa. It's been two weeks after I saw him again, and his words had been haunting me since. Hindi rin nakatulong na siya ang kasama ko dahil na rin siya ang architect na namamahala sa project ko. He's been bugging me since then. Isa pa, I realized that sooner or later, it will happen mas papaagahin ko lang.
"He's the father, Ysabel." I reminded her.
She sighs and shook her head. Alam ko naman na nakukulitan na siya sa akin. Ysabel is my best friend and cousin at the same time, she's been there with me through all of it. Siya ang kasa-kasama kong magpalaki sa kambal. I know that she's just protecting us from everything, but this is inevitable. At least, kung ngayon man ito mangyayari, nasa kamay namin at alam namin. It's better na kung kailan bata pa lang sila, alam na nila. Though, they already know some of it.
Louie and Louis are undeniably intelligent despite their age. Observant and sensitive din sila sa paligid nila kahit na may pagkapasaway sila. And I know they already picture in their young minds our current situation. However, hindi man sila magsabi, I can see them longing for their father. And I don't have the heart to take it away their chance now that they saw him. My twins are my life now. Sila ang bumuo sa akin nung nawasak ako. Because of them, I am who I am now.
And if reconciling with the their father is what will make them happy... I'll do it.
"Alright fine." Tinapik naman niya ako sa balikat bago tumayo sa upuan. "I'll go ahead, then. Ayoko muna makaistorbo sa inyo, but tell me the details later, a'yt?"
I smile and wink. "Of course. Ikaw na muna bahala sa office ha?"
"No prob."
