The Third Sister

The Holden thing ~part 1

*a few days later the doorbell rings, Maya answers it to find a boy at the front door*
Maya: hi
Holden: uh hi
Maya: you're not Maddies because I know what went down there so you must be Liv's, am I right?
Holden: uh yeah, I'm......
Maya: Holden right?
Holden: yeah h...how'd you know?.....
*he looks at her extremely confusedly and slightly nervously*
Maya: I remember and plus Liv doesn't stop talking about you
Holden: remember?
Maya: oh....you don't remember me
Holden: no sorry....should I?....
Maya: it's cool it's been a pretty long time
*holden suddenly flashes back to being a kid and watching from his house as Liv and Maddie played....and was that a third girl watching?*
Holden: wait I remember, you're the other one, the third sister
Maya: that's me....its Maya
Holden: sorry
Maya: it's cool you're the first person to remember that much who wasn't related to me
*she steps out of the way to let Holden in*
Maya: I'll just go get her
Holden: no it's okay, I'll wait
Maya: cool, you don't mind if I get back to work do you? I've gotta get some stuff done
Holden: it's cool, looks pretty confusing
*he nods towards the thing she was building*
Maya: Kinda but I got used to it, wanna see?
Holden: sure
*she leads him towards the couch but as she does she trips and being the gentleman that he is he catches her to stop her from falling and hurting herself, unfortunately Liv happens to be walking down the stairs, she doesn't see Maya trip only her in Holden's arms in a pretty compromising position, in the heat of the moment completely forgetting that it wouldn't be what it looks like anyway because of how uncomfortable Maya gets with physical contact*
Liv: HOLDEN?!
*holden helps Maya right herself and turns to Liv, his face in complete shock making him look all the more guilty*
Liv: MAYA....I SHOULD'VE KNOWN
*she runs upstairs crying*
Holden: LIV I CAN EXPLAIN, ITS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!
*but it was too late, Maya falls onto the couch*
Maya: great! She already doesn't like me, now she's gonna hate me, ugh, and she knows I wouldn't do what she's implying I did, I couldn't
Holden: yeah I don't know how she could believe I could either
Maya: no i seriously couldn't I'd just like go insane
Holden: uhh sorry I'm that unattractive
Maya: no that's not what I meant, she's really told you nothing about me has she?
Holden: nope
Maya: I don't really like to go broadcasting my issues so let's just say I have some and physical contact falls under them
Holden: oh wow sorry
Maya: but she knows that so why is she being like this?
Holden: she's just stressed
Maya: that ones probably on me too
Holden: I'm sure it's not
Maya: everyone would've been better off if I'd have stayed in New York with my aunt Katy, my whole family could live their lives the way they normally would and I would be with my friends and everyone would just be happier, I don't know why I wanted to come home, it was stupid
Holden: I'm sure she's happy to have you back really, you know things weren't all rainbows and sunshine when Liv came back I heard
Maya: what?
Holden: Liv and Maddie had a huge falling out and Liv was about to go back to Hollywood when they realised they were being silly and made up or at least so I've heard
Maya: I should go try and talk to her
Holden: I'm gonna go, can you tell her I'll call her later
Maya: yeah okay
*holden leaves and Maddie walks upstairs to their room where Liv is sat on her bed in tears, she hears Maya come up the stairs and looks up at her in pure rage*
Liv: YOU HATEFUL BITCH! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO RUIN MY LIFE, ALL IVE HEARD MY ENTIRE LIFE IS 'LIV ITS OKAY YOUVE GOT PERFORMING LEAVE THE SMART STUFF TO MAYA' IM MEVER GOOD ENOUGH FOR OUR FAMILY AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT, I WISH YOU HAD NEVER BEEN BORN! I WISH MADDIE AND I WERE JUST TWINS AND YOU NEVER EXISTED! WHY DONT YOU GO BACK TO NEW YORK YOU STUPID SLUT! HOLDEN WAS THE ONE THING THAT WAS MINE AND ONLY MINE AND YOU HAD TO TALE THAT TOO DIDNT YOU!!!!
*At this point liv was walking towards Maya very angrily and Maya was scared because she'd never seen Liv like this, no-one had, Liv got so close to Maya that she walked back nervously and stumbled, she fell to the ground, twisting her ankle as she just, luv looked like she was about to hit her when luckily for Maya having heard all the commotion and the yelling Maddie had run upstairs and got there just in time to stop Liv, Maddie stops Liv, grabs her and pulls her back into the bedroom where she yells at her*
Maddie: WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU THINKING?!?!
*liv looks at Maddie startled and with that Maddie turns away from her angrily and goes to Maya, she helps her up*
Maya: owes my ankle really hurts
Maddie: okay let's get you downstairs and we'll take a look
*maya nods and Maddie helps her down the stairs as Liv watches, still in utter shock from Maddies outburst, she never thought her sister would yell at her in such a way, with pure fury and anger, not once did it dawn on her that she had just done the same thing, Maddie got Maya to the couch and sat her down, she took off her shoe and saw her ankle was swollen*
Maddie: I think you've sprained it, I'll get you some ice
Maya: thank you
*maddie nods and goes to grab some ice, she was completely astounded at the way Liv had acted and was really shocked that Maya could have done anything to set her off in such a way, Maddie comes back with ice, she puts and pillow on the table and Maya puts her foot on it, Maddie puts the ice on her ankle and sits down next to her*
Maddie: what happened?
*she asked confusedly, Maya's in a flood of tears*
Maya: Liv's boyfriend came over and was waiting for her and I was going to show him what I was working on whilst we waited because he seemed interested in it and I tripped and he caught me, but all Liv saw was him holding me and she must've thought we were going to kiss or something, she got really upset and when I went to try and explain it to her she started screaming at me and I swear if you hadn't have come when you did I don't know what she would've done, I guess I don't really blame her, it looked pretty bad, but if I'm not capable of hugging my sister without being extremely uncomfortable then how could I kiss a guy who was basically a random stranger I mean I haven't seen him since we were kids
Maddie: it's not your fault Maya, I mean she didn't know the whole story it's true but she didn't give you a chance to explain and she was screaming at you, she was going to hit you I could see it
Maya: she screamed some really horrible things
Maddie: I heard
Maya: was it true?
Maddie: of course not
Maya: really?
Maddie: yeah
Maya: did they really say that to her? About leaving the smart things to me
Maddie: maybe but they wouldn't have meant it, they said it to me too and the used to say leave the sports to me and the performing to her so she had no right
Maya: do you hate me too?
Maddie: of course not sis, and Liv doesn't hate you she's just upset, look let me talk to her and see if I can't sort this and her out
Maya: okay
Maddie: keep icing your ankle and I'll check when I come back, you'll probably need to go to the doctor to get that looked at
Maya: oh
Maddie: I'll be back soon
Maya: okay
*maddie goes upstairs, Maya takes out her phone to call a friend from New York*
Maya: hey....yeah I miss you guys to....look you know you offered to come it and visit and I said no...I've changed my mind.....really? That's great....ill see you tomorrow....uh I'm not that great but I'll be better when you get here....thank you.....you too....bye
* she ends the call and just sits there thinking, trying not to cry, if Maddie can't fix this she might have a backup plan*
