The first to break under the tension were the Poppy, Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds. Suspicious even before the great battle with the Walnut, they grew to bitterly hate any outsiders. As most nut tribes inhabited the far forests of the West and the land of the United States of Fruit was across a huge ravine, the only ones to take this resentment out on were each other.

It started one night with the death of a young Poppy seed on Pumpkin Soil. Everyone blamed each other. The Poppy Seeds mad with anger, grief and fear declared war on the Pumpkin Seeds. The Pumpkin Seeds believed they had been framed by the Sunflower Seeds and thus launched frequent attacks. The Sunflower Seeds were certain it was staged by the Poppy Seeds in order to start a war, and thus denied any offers of an alliance. Violence rose, casualties rose and the seeds were torn apart by war.

As said by the Great Sultana days before his death, "Something that is born from bad, can never end well."

And the war of the seeds didn't. It ended when all the seeds were dead. Dead and gone.

And the Walnuts? They rode in mere hours after the final battle, scavenging for weapons, supplies, coins among the corpses.
