Petchy was pacing up and down the wooden floor of the living room.
"Petchy, can you please stop pacing!" his Mother said in an annoyed tone."I am trying to sew up this hole that you made in your shirt."
"I can't mum, I am worried about dad. He said he would be back before the trees started losing their precious leaves, on the last days of spring."
"I trust your father is perfectly okay." Amichi says, brushing Petchys comment aside.
"How do you know? He said he would be back by now! I knew I should have gone with him, he needs me!" Petchy argued.
"Petchy! Stop yelling and sit down, right now! Instead of dancing around the living room, doing my head in, go up to your room and do your schoolwork. Neither of us need your stupid worries." Amichi crossly said to him. Petchy huffed himself up and slugged up the stairs of their house up to his room. He hadn't slept properly in over a month since his father left, and all this worry wasn't helping either. That night while he was tossing and turning in bed, an idea sparked in his mind. Why keep worrying about his father, when he could go and see for himself where he is? It was perfect! He'd end his and Amichi's worries and his father would be back home! With that, Petchy made the final decision. He would leave straightway.
Packing his bag was hard, he didn't know exactly where he was going and didn't know exactly what he needed, but the essentials were obvious.
Unlike Petchy, Amichi could sleep but her dreams were filled with nightmares, would Menkrin ever come back? If he did, would he be the same? What if he never comes back? What would her and Petchkrin do? After another distressing night of nightmares Amichi got out of her bed and got dressed, missing Menkrin's warm shell sleeping next to her, and waking up to his face. While making breakfast for Petchy the front door was suddenly broke open with what seemed like hundreds of walnuts filing in. "Why are you here?" She asked the Walnut standing by the door who looked like he was in charge. He looked at her and waved a few Walnuts over. "You can have her as well." He told them. "WAHT?!" Amichi screamed. Uh oh.
