(A/N Ash: because who wants to read about classes right now, tbh)

Scanning the lunch tables, I quickly spot the group I had hung out with this morning, and walk over smiling hopefully. When they spot me, they call my name, waving me over and offering me a seat next to Emily.

    "Hey guys."

"Sup," Gray says, not even glancing up from his computer where he's playing virtual Magic the Gathering.

"Howdy," Amber waves from her spot next to Kris, who's laughing with some hipster kids.

"What? Oh, hey," Ty says, glancing up from her music video watching, pulling an earbud out.

"Hello Sweetie," Emily says from right next to me, "Wanna walk up and get some lunch with me?"

"Sure! Although, where's Ash? She was right behind me and then she went poof," I ask, causing Em to shrug in response.

"Probably in the lunch line already, then she'll run off to the band room like she always does," They say, waving a hand dismissively,"She's weird."

"What does she do in there?"

"I dunno," Em shrugs again, "I never really bothered to ask."

"Odd." is the rest of what I have to say on the topic.

"What's for lunch?", I ask, craning my head to see ahead in the line.

"Turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes," Ash answers, walking past with her tray and out the side door of the cafeteria.

    "Yasssssssss. Wait, was that Ash?"

"Nah, that was Ash's twin sister Talini. She's normally in the closet tied up but manages to escape from time to time- of course that was Ash!"

    "Well then..."

We grab our lunch and return to the table. I take a few bites, savouring my favorite lunch of all time while Em watches Food Wars, laughing with a techie who introduced himself as Seth after getting in a techie debate with Gray, some annoying little shithead I can already tell. Damn techies.Anyone who chooses to debate with Gray about the ideal technology to play a specific video game from the 90's must have some mental issue.

I finish up my food and trash my tray. I look towards the door to the cafeteria. While Emily gets caught up in the more... interesting parts of Food Wars, I decide to slip away and see if I can find myself a wild Ashbel.

When I walk in, I hear some mild swearing, and then some footsteps toward the door, only to pause and turn around after the sound of throwing a tray away, walking away. I cautiously open the door of the band room, and cherry blossoms fly toward me as a theme song and narration starts up. Kidding.

What really happened was I saw Ash growling angrily at some sheet music on a stand, before making a marking and picking up the abandoned drumsticks and playing the intro to Wipeout. I look around the band room, curious since I had not been in here before. Musical instruments line the walls, including the most beautiful thing beside Ash, a piano.

I was not taught how to play any instruments. All I knew was what I learned from YouTube and practice on a keyboard in my grandparents basement. So when I saw the piano, I headed over and sat down. I ran my fingers gently across the top of the keys, not making a sound quite yet.

I noticed some sheet music on the piano already, so I decided to fuck it and try to actually play some music. I placed my hands in the correct places and began to play. The song started out slow, but I slowly picked up some pace as I relaxed into the melody, and by the end I was playing with very few mistakes, thanks to the song being an easy piece.

I finished with a wrong note, but heard some small applause from the drum set. I turned to the left and saw Ash clapping and smirking a bit.

"Not bad. Not bad at all. You know the song?"

"Not really, though the sheet music labelled it as Beethoven's 9th symphony." I shrugged nonchalantly, and turned back to the piano.

"What else can you play?" I looked over my shoulder at her.

"I don't know much... I've goofed off a bit with a keyboard and maybe made up a little song?"

    Ash nods thoughtfully, "Interesting..."

I pulled out my notebook from my bag which I had brought with me and set it up. "I mean... I did this?"

I played a simple little melody that was quick, but catchy. After a few runs, Ash tapped a small beat on the drums. She soon made it a bit more complex, while keeping it in time with the piano bit.

    "Very interesting..."

    "What's so interesting about it?"

"Nothing, it's just cool how you learned how to play so well without a teacher," Ash says, beginning to pack up her sheet music and drumsticks.

"I'm... honestly surprised as well. I mean, I've never tried on a real piano." I close up the piano and shove my notebook in my bag again.

The bell rings, just as Ash was about to respond, causing her to shrug, "To Geography class... joy."

"Hey, I have Spanish class. Not fun!"

"I like Spanish. I hate geography with a passion. The teacher can suck my metaphorical dick."

"Who's your teacher? I have DiSalty."

"DiBaldy. Em's Virgin Teacher. Your DiSalty. Same thing. I typically call him Mr. D-"

    "That's suggestive."

"-because I'm 75% sure he's gay. Not that there's a problem with that."

    "Well, good luck."

We leave the band room and part ways, her going upstairs whereas I travel downward, into the tundra the school calls a basement or 'first floor'.

Quick A/N from Sky

So from this point on, there may be songs Sky has 'written'. I have in fact NOT written any songs and probs never will. So don't copyright me or whatever. Also, Ash left this to me bc she sucks.
