Once my daily dose of hell wore off and I found my lungs, I began to think about the band room again, and the cute redhead with mad skills on the keyboard. I joined in on drums, and when I did it felt both like something clicked while something else was... missing.

Speaking of missing, my electric guitar finally got fixed! Oh how I missed it. Drums were fun, but nothing was quite the same as when I held my baby in my arms, the baby being my guitar of course.

Wait. Drums... guitar... keyboard... if we could get some words and set notes... we could make music. (A/N Ash: ;) ) Like, a band.

Hold up Ash, you're getting ahead of yourself. You and Sky can't play 3 instruments by yourself while singing. Maybe we could find someone else to help us? Ty plays... but I don't get along with her very well... or Kris... or most of the people I know.

I guess I could try to get along with Ty...

I sigh tiredly, walking to english, my final class of the day. Maybe this time Sky and I will get actual work done on our project. Nah, probably not.

"Ash, we have to actually work today."

I groan, putting my head in my arms dramatically, "Do we have to?"

"I would like to get an A, so yes."

"Can't we talk?"

She lets out a small sigh in defeat. "About what, Ash?"

"Do you wanna make a band with me?"

She froze, eyes wide. "Wh-what?"

"Do you wanna make a band? You and me?", I ask, in the same tone, looking at her.

She puts her hand on my forehead, "I don't feel a fever..."

"Gee, thanks..."

"Ash... we can't just start a band-"

"Why not?"

"One, we don't have instrum-"

"We have a keyboard, a guitar, and a drum set."

"Well two, we can't write mu-"

"You can."

"Three... I just can't be in a band."

"Why not?"

"I..."

"You are an amazing player and person. So what's the problem?"

"... let's just say the last time I performed on stage for people, it was a elementary school concert and I puked down the kid in front of me's back halfway through Baa Baa Black Sheep."

"... You have stage fright?"

"You... could call it that."

"I'm sure the kid's back was asking for it."

"It was my crush."

"... Oh."

I hold back my laughter for her dignity's sake. Poor kid was probably embarrassed for a long time from that one. But nothing can quell my need to begin this band.

"Well Sky... could you maybe try? I have ideas, but nothing can happen unless we try."

"... name one idea you have that's any good."

I grin, pulling out a poster I nabbed from the wall on my way to class. The school variety show.

"Are you CRAZY?" Her face somehow pales even more. "That's... that's in 3 weeks!"

"Which means, we have 3 weeks to practice and come up with some music!"

"Are you girls working?" Mrs. Mueller asks, standing right behind me. I turn, and smile innocently.

"Of course miss, why we're nearly done!"

She nods and walks away, leaving me to turn back to the little redhead Skylar.

"Come on, Sky. We can do a practice, see if it works. If it does, we keep going. If it doesn't, we can be done."

I wait a few moments while she thinks things through. After what seems like an eternity she lets out a defeated sigh.

"Fine. We can do a practice." I dance around a bit in victory.

"When's the soonest you can get the keyboard? If you don't have it at your place, of course."

"Today, actually. My mom wants me to deliver something, so I'll be heading there today."

"Perfect. We can practice tomorrow at my place."

"Can we work on the project now?"

I nod, and we finally set to work. The project takes us until the end of class, so only about 10 minutes.

The bell rings, and I dash out of the building. I gotta get everything set so we have the best practice of all time!
