Clary sat in Jace's room on his bed,upholding her promise to him by keeping her eyes shut.
It was her 17th birthday and Jace had something extra special planned,but Clary knew nothing could compare to what he had done in the institute's greenhouse last year.
"You can open your eyes now..."said Jace,returning to her side.Clary's eye fluttered open and she turned to him.He held out a gold locket with a C engraved into it.Clary's smile widened.
"Oh,Jace,it's beautiful.."she cried,rapping her arms around him.
"May I?"he asked.She nodded.
She turned around.Jace pushed her long,strawberry red hair to the side and put the necklace round her neck.Clary got that warm sensation as she always did,as his fingers brushed gently against her skin.
"There,"he declared.She faced him and there lips locked in a kiss,then she noticed something shinning around Jace's neck.She broke away from the kiss and stared.It was a gold locket,just like hers,but with a J engraved on it.
"I love you.."he whispered.
Their lips met again.While taking a breath,she said,"say it again.."
"Clary,I love you.."Jace said.
"Love you too..."
