Chapter 7

Clary could just sit on her bed and stare.

The demon was looking for her.

Simon was hurt because of her.

Maia was dead because of her.

Luke was devastated,but not as much as Simon.He knew it wasn't Clary's fault,but he was very distant.He lost someone he was close too.Clary had tried to imagine how it would feel to lose Jace.But tears would fill her eyes and she'd can't stop crying for hours.

She was at Luke's.Since the incident,the council has been busy trying to decipher who sent the demon.Clary knew the answer.Sebastian is still alive.

Most people thought so,as presumed before,but they still weren't sure.Clary was about to reach for her sketch pad on the desk,but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Clary?"her mom called.

"What mom?"Clary wasn't in the mood for a pep talk about how it wasn't her fault Maia was dead,because to her,it was.

"A...Jace is her to see you,"

Clary wasn't shocked.Jace had been trying to contact her since,but she ignored his calls and texts.She was to depressed.

"Can he come in?"Jocelyn asked.

"Yeh!"Clary got up and quickly smoothed out her jeans with the palms of her hands and opened the door.

"Paris?"Clary laughed.

"Wait,wait,so they went to Paris,awwww,how sweet,did they kiss under the Eiffel Tower?"Clary wiggled her eyebrows.

"How would I know!"Jace smirked.Jace always knew how to make her feel better.

"So,Alec and Magnus aren't here to help us,hmmmm"Clary thought the idea of Magnus and Alec's lovey-vacation being in Paris very amusing,but that meant less help on this case.

Clary got up and walked to the window.Her mind was racing.

She'd love a trip to Paris too,to get her mind of things.

Sometimes Clary wished that she never heard or was dragged into the shadow world.

But if all this had never happened,she would have never met Jace.

She exhaled sadly and turned to face Jace on her bed.

"Let's go,"she declared.

"Where?"Jace looked utterly clueless,not one of his usual trade marks.

"To Simon's!"
