Chapter 6

Simon reached for his phone.
Maybe he and Maia could fend of the demon,but they needed back-up.He dialed Clary's number.

Clary lay next to Jace on his bed.Izzy had went back to her room at about midnight.
Suddenly Clary's phone rang.She sprang out of bed.

"Shoot!"she cried,she forgot she was supposed to go back home to go out with her mom and Luke.But it wasn't her mom calling,it was Simon.

"Wha...?"Jace,who had just woken up,asked groggily.

"Simon,"Clary replied and answer.

"Hi,Si..."

"Cla...my house....he..."Simon was soon cut of my a familiar voice screaming.Maia.

"Simon!"Clary cried,"Simon!"

But the call was disconnected.

"Clary...."

"We need to go now,Simon's in danger,get Izzy!"Clary felt tears run down her face,she didn't want anything to happen to Simon.

Jace reached under his bed and pulled out two shinny seraph blades.He tossed on to Clary.

"Saraqael,"Jace told her.
Clary whisper the name to the blade and it came alive.It's light reflected along Jace's pale face.

"Come on,let's get Izzy,"Jace declared and they were off.

Clary,Jace and Izzy ran up to Simon's front door.It seemed in tack,which made Clary wonder.

Clary pulled open the front door,and was welcomed by the terrible scent of blood mixed with the smell of demons.

"Simon!"Clary called.Raising her blade,"It's me,Clary!"

She walked into the living room,followed by Jace and Izzy.Clary gasped.The living room was in a mess.The couch was ripped,blood splattered on the walls.

"Simon!"Clary burst into tears and fell to the floor.

"C...Clary?"said a shaken,yet familiar voice.Simon's.

"Simon!"Clary got up and ran to where she had heard the Simon's voice.The kitchen.

She flung open the kitchen door and saw Simon,on his side,with a bloody Maia in his arms.

"Clary?"Simon asked.

"Maia,she..demon blood..."

"Relax Simon,we're here now,"reassured Izzy.

Clary couldn't help but feel a swing of jealous rise up in her.Simon was dating Izzy,but considered Maia as a close friend.Clary never really liked Maia.But did Simon ever like Jace?

Clary let the thought slip away and led her focus back to Simon.

His clothes were covered with what Clary hoped wasn't his blood.

"We...need....to....get out of...here?"Simon stuttered.He looked quite shaken.Clary assumed the demon caught them by surprise because Simon had gotten used to demons,he even killed one.

"What happened?"Jace asked,while he helped Simon to his feet and Izzy lifted an unconscious Maia in his arms.

"The...the demon..was saying your name Clary,it was looking for you."
