So, we are going to have this advice column here because we love helping people. I mean, who doesn't?
Here's a question from Athena_cabin.
What tips would you give when making a book cover?MagazinesForYou:
Well, if you're lazy, you can check out people on Wattpad who make excellent book covers. Check out the advertisements section of this magazines for more information.Next, answers to your question. Most importantly, your title and name must be big and clear. Try not to use fancy fonts which are hard to read. You might also want to add a catchy subtitle. Many people judge books by their covers. Also, you might want to use Google images to find the background for your cover. Don't use clip art though. It looks really unprofessional. For the background, avoid gradients too. If you want to find pictures with no backgrounds, search png. For example, Ron Weasley png.
For the background, remember to choose the correct picture. Think of the mood of the story. What message do you want to send across?
If you want to learn from others, try approaching cover makers and ask them questions. Alternatively, you can also join cover competitions to help you learn from others.
Next, we have one from Anonymous.
I have a crush in school, and I don't think he'll ever know. He's kind of cool to me, but I don't think he ever notices me at all. I mean, I'm not in his circles, and besides, he likes this other girl I'm friends with. See, romance stories are true, except nobody really gets the happily ever after thing. Once, my crush actually asked me to hang out with him and his friends after school in the mall, and I actually said 'yes'. To my horror, it was a dare, which I found out after confronting him through messages. Also, he keeps doing mischievous stuff, and I try to act cool in front of him. But the real question is... Should I still like him?
MagazinesForYou:
Ahhhhh crushes. Fortunately for you, I have had a similar experience and here is what I think. No and yes. Now, now, let me explain. When this happened to me and the dust settled from everything I was back at square one, unhappy and with a broken heart. I know what it's like to like a guy and then have him return nothing(until two years later, a month before he moves away). If he is not showing any reciprocation that can be confusing, but asking you to hang out just for a dare, that's rude. When it all boils down he should be what you have been calling him, just a crush. Someone who has a personality like that can certainly be someone you like, or someone that sends your heart racing when you see him, but always keep in mind that they are not relationship material. So the answer to your question would be: Yes, it's okay to like him, if that's all the further it goes. Now of course you know this person better then me, so your judgment on his personality will always be better then mine(and of course, people can always change as time goes on) but I hope this helped clear some things.
