Saber's POV
I groan in my sleep as something shakes my body.
"Saber, get up!" Nia shouts. I sleepily open my eyes to see her right in front of me glaring.
"What? Why did you wake me?" I mumble, rubbing my eyes.
"We need to get moving! The sun has already risen, come on!" She shouts enthusiastically, turns into a leopard and starts to run around like a mad woman.
"Nia, calm down! You've been restless this whole trip, we only started traveling yesterday!"
"So? I need to meet my sister!" She roars and runs off. I groan, turn into a leopard and follow her. This whole time she has been so jittery. She wasn't even told where the portal is, but she just has a sense. Yesterday in her craziness she described it to me as a pulling sensation, like her sister was physically pulling Nia to her. I'm actually worried, Nia hasn't been able to rest and has had this crazy gleam in her eyes.
"Finally!" She exclaims once we reach the portal about midday. Nia doesn't hesitate to leap straight into it, and I quickly follow, not wanting her to get in danger. She gasps "This is exactly how it looked in my dream!"
"Dream?" I wonder "What dream?" Nia looks back at me and speedily explains
"I had a dream last night and I started in our realm right in front of the portal. When I jumped through the portal, I was right here! I know exactly where to go! In the dream I went to the house where Ivy is! Let's goooooooooooo!" She runs off again. I sigh, and quickly follow.
We run through the woods until we end up at a road, where Nia turns into a human and starts to speed walk, barely breaking stride to change her form. I follow suit and catch up to her with my longer legs. She can really power walk though.
Nia's POV
I can't stand still for long, my heart is racing and I feel jittery and full of energy. I guess I'm just too excited to finally meet my sister. I walk down the path exactly like in my dream, going so fast I'm practically running.
Saber keeps pace with me easily because of his height advantage and longer legs to me. He is barely taller than me, but he can still keep up with my extreme power walking of insanity, which is good in this case. Saber also has the good sense to keep quiet, knowing I am not in the mood for talking.
The closer I get to the foster home, the calmer I get, and the closer I get to my sister Ivory. I can't wait! I hope we'll get along. Wait... what if she hates me?
That thought stops me in my tracks, and Saber looks over at me concerned.
"Nia, are you okay? Why did you suddenly stop?"
"What if she doesn't like me?" I whisper and meet his eyes. Saber lightly smiles and his eyes soften, losing the worry in them. He pulls me into a tight hug.
"If she doesn't like you, she's crazy. There is no valid reason for anyone not to like you. So don't worry and let's get moving!" I smile, comforted greatly by my connection mate, my best friend, my love.
My body tenses. I never really thought that I love Saber, but my heart is singing that I do. My smile widens with the realization, but fear also squeezes my heart as my rational brain argues what if he doesn't love me back. I push the negativity aside. For now, I will focus on my sister.
"Nia, are you sure you're okay?" Saber asks. I back out of the hug, still grinning hugely like a madwoman, and nod enthusiastically.
"I just realized you're right, so let's get moving again!" I start to speed walk towards the foster house again, with Saber right next to me, like it always has been and hopefully always will be.
When we finally arrive at the house, I knock on the door. From inside, shuffling can be heard, and the door flies open. Standing there is a girl, about my age I'd guess, with short, straight, blonde hair. She comes up to about my shoulder, so she's probably average height, since I'm quite tall. The girl scowls and studies me and Saber with her flashing light blue eyes, then yells back into the house
"Jake! Get out here now!" A boy that's about my height comes into view behind the girl grumbling. He swishes his brown hair out of the way of his hazel eyes and says, annoyed
"What do you want Molly?" She rolls her eyes, dismissing his attitude, and motions to me and Saber
"Is this them? The ones you have been blabbing to Ivy about?" Ivy. Is that Ivory?
The boy, Jake I presume, studies me and Saber as well, then gasps.
"It's them, it's really them! They're finally here! I'll get Ivy, and Molly don't be rude let them in!" Molly steps aside
"Come in." Still saying silent, we walk into the living room, followed by Molly.
"I'm Molly, as you probably guessed, and please, sit." She calmly states, placing herself in a chair. Saber and I sit side by side on a couch.
"Hi Molly, I'm Antonia. Everyone calls me Nia, and this is Saber." I introduce us. Molly snorts
"I know who you are. Everyone in this house knows who you are." I look at Saber, confused.
"How can that be? We just got here." Saber asks, voicing my thoughts.
"It's because I've been having premonitions of your arrival for about a month." The person from earlier, Jake, answers as he walks into the living room with a girl. She's short with long raven black hair and brown eyes that glitter with warmth.
"Hi guys!" The girl exclaims cheerily. "It's great to finally meet you! I'm Amy."
"Wait... you have premonitions?" I ask Jake "That's so cool!"
"Yeah. They give me killer headaches afterwards though. Hurts like hell." I wince in sympathy.
"Why did you tell us?" Saber wonders with an untrusting tone of voice. I elbow him, and he doesn't even flinch.
"Simple, I know you two are cat shapeshifters and therefore wouldn't rat out fellow uniques." Jake states. Makes sense. There are many different realms with different types of humans with different powers. Some seem more powerful because their power is more obvious, such as shapeshifting, but other realms have people with mental powers, like Jake's.
"Do you have telekinesis as well?" I ask, curious. Jake simply nods.
"Where is Ivy?" Molly growls impatiently.
"Who knows, when I told her she squealed then slammed her door shut in my face." Jake shrugs. Molly perks up, and looks towards the stairs.
"She's coming." I listen for footsteps and hear them running down a hall. I wonder how Molly was able to hear that, maybe she's a shapeshifter as well.
A girl with light blonde wavy locks comes charging down the stairs. The anxious and jittery feeling I've had since the trip began dissipates, and a massive grin lights up my face. She looks to me, grinning and tears streaming out of her eyes.
"Antonia?" She whispers, like I'm a dream that will shatter if there's a loud noise.
"Ivory!" I scream and run forward, squeezing my found twin sister. We both laugh, and through our connection that is starting to become stronger since we now know about it, I feel Saber's extreme happiness for me that I found my sister. I haven't been looking for long, but I'm still glad I was able to find her. We've been separated for too long.
"What's going on down here?" A woman's voice yells down the stairs. I release Ivory, wiping away the tears I didn't even realize had fallen.
"Sorry Marie, it's just..." Ivory starts to explain, but the woman cuts her off while staring at me with vivid hazel eyes.
"Your sister has found you at last."
