Chapter 1

Peri's PoV:

School; something all kids my age hate, especially when you have exams, since leaving Tom and Steph I've been able to focus on them I didn't have to feed her whilst revising or stressing about her whilst she cries and I then forget to revise, life now without all that is a lot easier and I can focus on me. Tom I don't know if I can say the same about

"Good luck pez you can do this, just remember to do every question this is important!" My mum handed me my school bag and kissed my cheek before opening the door

"I will! Now let me leave before I'm late!" I laughed closing the door behind me

I sighed before heading to school walking down the same root as I always did, which was past the Osbornes; past where Tom lived

The door opened as I walked towards it revealing Tom and frankie, I watched from the bus stop and saw Tom giving our- I mean his daughter a kiss goodbye I could faintly hear what he was saying

"See you after my exam ok?" He was cooing over our- his 8 month old "daddy loves you" he finished before handing the little baby over to Frankie,  I smiled from where I was standing that I could see he was happy being a dad and obviously really cares about Steph.

"Peri?" I snapped out of my daze and realised I'd been daydreaming and Tom was now in front of me waving his hand in front of my face

"Sorry" I shook my head,my could feel my cheeks burning I'd obviously gone red with embarrassment

"Were you spying on me?" He laughed

"No! I was walking past and stopped because-" I couldn't think of an excuse "my shoelace was undone"

"Peri you wear slip ons? There are no laces" he laughed to himself beginning to walk, I jumped up of the bus stop seat and walked along side him

"Err- fine" I sighed "I was watching how happy you and Steph looked as I walked past ok?"

"So you were spying on me?" He playfully slapped me on the arm

"No!!" I ran off laughing "hurry before we miss this exam!" I spun around walking backwards shouting to him. He ran catching up

"It's like the old days this isn't it, like it used to be?" I sighed walking through the school gates

"Yeah" was all he said "do you miss it when it was like that?" I asked

He nodded but said nothing "ok what have I done to make you stop speaking?"

"Nothing peri just leave it there- you were the one who made us this awkward when you decided to make me choose between you and Steph and I don't think I can forgive you for that-" I decided to cut him off "Tom.." But he began again "no just let me finish I don't mind hanging out with you but just as friends , I've moved on" he walked off to his exam, and I just broke down

"Peri!" Nico ran over as I sunk down the wall in tears "peri are you ok" I heard her call pulling me into a hug "I messed up with Tom" I cried

"Peri.." She sighed "come on we're gonna miss this exam"she took my hand and pulled me up walking me to the exam room, all that I'd been revising had washes out of my mind and now all I that I could think of was Tom and what he said about 'moving on'

"You have 2 hours to complete this exam" mr McQueen wrote on his white bored and the room fell silent. I saw Tom In front beginning to start his paper I shook my head and tried my best, most of my thoughts emptied

2 hours on the exam ended and the sound of silence was turned to sighs of relief. We were all dismissed from the classroom and made our way out, I tried to catch up to Tom and try to apologise

"Tom!" I smiled walking over to where I saw him talking to some boy in our year, I saw him smile walking my way with his arms open, my first reaction was to open mine as well so I did. But put them straight back down when I realised he walked straight past me and hugged jade kissing her cheek wrapping his arm around her neck and walking out the school gates together

How could she? The amount of times I've told her how I felt and how much I missed him and how much I wanted him back and she goes and steals him off me!

All I could feel is anger rising and rising inside of me I just ran out of school pushing past them both in fact I ran through their arms in tears

"Peri?!" Tom called running after me jade following slowly behind I ignored them both and ran home slamming the door shut behind me and running into my bedroom

"I hate you!" I screamed to the photo of me Tom and jade smashing it on the floor along with anything else that could break. I threw my arms across the dresser and everything  on top crashed to the floor some things breaking

"Peri? Oh my god" Nico walked in at just the right time as I curled up on my bed in tears she climbed over the broken glass and sat next to me pulling me in again as I cried into her chest

"Toms with jade he doesn't love me anymore!" I cried

"Oh.. Peri when you what something you have to fight for it otherwise you don't get what you want" her words clicked with me and I knew what I had to do, I wiped my tears and sat up

"Peri you have something with Tom that jade doesn't" I raised an eyebrow In confusion

Nico pulled out a photo from my draw that only she knows is there, the one thing that isn't destroyed in my room, my only real family photo me Tom and the baby from the day she was brought home. That's the only photo I have of her. Nico pointed to it

"You have Steph and your her mum, tell Tom you want to be her mum and you want to be a family"

I was shocked "but I don't I'm not ready Nico!"

"Then toms jades and that little girl is going to grow up calling her mummy" my heart crushed I couldn't bear the thought of that even if I was never going to be her mum I still biologically am

"Well come on then what are you waiting for?!" She lifted me up and walked me downstairs "can you come with me?" I asked

"Of course I will but take this with you" she handed me the photo back as we walked back outside

I sighed in worry and regret, there's no turning back if this works I'm going to be singed up for parent hood, this was not a good idea..
