I looked at the clock the moment my eyes opened and saw that its already almost 3 in the afternoon. I mentally thought of the time it would take for me to fix myself for Julia's dinner party.

30 minutes of shower. 30 minutes of make up. And of course, 30 minutes of picking for a dress. If you think that that's too short of a time to fix myself, then think again.

Well, anyways the party's at 6, so that gives me more time to enjoy shower. I was humming all throughout the process and when I got out thats when I turned my music up.

"Don't let me down, down, down!" I sang along as I was finishing my make-up and went in my walk-in closet for what I'm going to wear.

I talked to my parents just the night I got the invitation and when they heard  about the party, they immediately sent me a rack of branded dress I could choose from.

I have two dresses in my hand and only one can be America's- I giggled to myself. At my own joke.

Anyways, both are equally gorgeous. So, since I was having a hard time picking, I took a picture of me wearing it and sent it to Cheska. "Which one?" I followed up as a message.

'sorry you had to go through this. must be hard choosing over two beautiful dresses, while ur bestfriend is stuck at home looking after her siblings and doing chores. such is a problem u r facing' she replied.

'you literally just have to say if its the black or baby pink dress. it would have been more less time consuming 4 u.' I replied back.

A minute later she replied with a simple 'the black one'

'See? Our conversation would have ended early if only u told me that when I asked you so'

After double checking myself over the mirror to see if I'm all good, I went out of my room and into the kitchen to help myself a cup of water. I sent a message to Liam to ask if he's done, since we've come to an agreement that we would go together. Us being neighbors and such.

I was lost in thougt and was interrupted by an 'oomp' sound. It was faint but I heard it around the living room.

That had me alert so I went out of the kitchen quickly, while trying not to make a sound.

I live in a subdivision in where before you could enter, you would have to go through a checkpoint, so I'm not all that nervous.

But, just for precaution I took off my stiletto and held it in a way that the sharpness of the heels could be used for a weapon. It's called killer heels for a reason.

I peeked around the living room and saw no one, so I went deeper into the room and was startled to see a body laying comfortably on the floor, infront of the cushioned couch.

"What the f-" I trailed off when the body changed position and made it easier for me to see who it was.

"Gio!" I exclaimed excitedly and his eyes widened as if in panic then got up in an instant. "I'M UP, SIR!" he suddenly declared.

I don't know what kind of treatment he got when he was being trained by his father but I'm sure this is the after effect.

I threw myself to him and gave a surprise hug. He looked at me in a horrified expression and it changed in a big smile when he saw me. "Ky!" then he hugged me in a way that took my feet off the ground. Literally, okay.

Angelo Giovanni Knight aka Gio,  my cousin. From what I heard, he's been taking business trips lately and has been doing a good job as the president despite being a newbie. Imagine being only 21, and suddenly becoming president.

"What are you doing here?" He asked after our long greeting hug. And I gave him a weird look, ".. I live here?"

He was dazed for a moment and quickly realized his mistake "Oh yeah. Sorry. I haven't had a good night sleep for awhile now. I was around because I had some business to take care of, then remembered you live here. So I came over. And fell asleep the moment I entered."

"What about the checkpoint?"

"I just had to show them my ID, what's so hard about that?" He smirked. In his ID, it shows the surname 'Knight' and his occupation as the president of a his big company.

Of course.

"As for the knowing the password of my door?" Gio looked at the door then dropped himself to the couch, as if exhausted by all the questioning.

"Ugh, my head hurts, feels like its gonna explode. I just wanted to see my cute little cousin but all she does is interrogate me" he whined. Wriggling around like a child.

"Okay! Calm down. I missed you, of course." I told him as a knock came from the door. "I'll get that." I said and stood up from my crouching position.

"I've come to pick you up." Was what Liam said by the time I opened the door. "Oh, yeah sure. I'll just get my shoes" I was about to head in, when Gio suddenly came behind me. Which in turn, surprised Liam.

"And who is this gentleman, Ky?" The smile that Gio is showing is quite scary. Being one of the youngest girl in our whole family tree makes them more overprotective than usual every time they're around.

"My friend. Were gonna go together to another friend's party." I said. But Gio was still looking tense.

"I'm Liam Hunter, sir." I was taken aback by his formal tone. First time hearing it.

"Hunter?" Gio wondered out loud. "Is your mother, perhaps, Layla Hunter?" Gio asked, the aura around him turning lighter by the sound of Liam's surname.

"Yes, sir."

"Oh is that so?" Gio responded then he laughed. "I'm Angelo Knight. Her cousin. I've met your mother, please tell her my regards." And suddenly, he was all smiley and even took Liam's hand to shake it.

"Here is your shoes, Ky" then he handed me my stilettos that somehow came from behind him. "You take care now. Bye!" Silently, we went outside the gate to his car.

"Text me the address and be home by 12!" Gio followed up when we were about to go out the gate. All I could do was waved him goodbye.
