Business tycoons often come over and greet either Liam and me or sometimes us both.

I mean, I can't exactly help them with anything when I'm only my parent's child. But still, I try to keep up appearances.

After all the formal stuff was done, its finally time for dinner.

Which I'm thankful for because I'm the gum I was chewing doesn't have a flavor anymore.

Waiters went in their position and in an orderly manner, went around and started distributing food.

When they reached our table, Liam leaned in and whispered, "Roasted duck's my guess."

I looked at him and at the cloche still covering one of the main course, "Pork ribs," I whispered back.

And when the waiter raised the cloche, it was neither of our guess.

"Lobster," I announced, as if it was necessary. Liam and I snickered at our wrong guesses.

But I coughed when I notice Julia coming over to our table, "Look smart, she's going over here"

Liam knitted his eyebrows in confusion, "Look smart?"

"Its an expression," I hissed as I tapped his back for him to straighten it. There was even crumbs of crackers we muched on awhile ago on his suit.

I wiped it and he did so too, when he saw me removing it.

"Kylie, Liam, I'm so glad you were able to make it!" Julia said, her dress catching my eyes as it glimmers with every move she makes.

"I'm sorry if you're bored, I actually wanted a normal party appropriate for our age. But my parents probably only wanted this to establish connection," Julia continued, leaning in between our chairs, her voice low as to not let anyone hear it.

"You don't have to apologize, we're doing just fine," I told her as Liam continued avoiding eye-contact with her. "And you look so pretty, girl! Like you always do, but tonight there's an extra glow." I added, trying to hype her up.

She waved her hand at me, flattered, " Come on, you're prettier! Love the highlights."

"No, you look prettier. Doesn't she, Liam?" I pushed and pass the baston to Liam.

He went into panic mode for a moment, glared at me as I continue encouraging him with the use of my eyes and finally, after a rollercoaster of emotions, looked at Julia in the eyes.

"You're really gorgeous," He said, taking her hand to kiss it.

I thought for sure he was going to stutter, but I was surprised. Sure, the kiss of the hand was kind of late but damn. He smooth.

".. and smart. Yo-you're gorgeous and very brainy," Liam continued, stammering a bit.

"Oof. There he goes," I whispered to myself.

"You flatter me," Julia giggled then looked over a crowd of people, "I can see my parents calling me over, so I'll be seeing you guys maybe later, or maybe not. Please, enjoy" then she walked over to the other side of the hall.

When I looked back to Liam, he was covering his face. And while I can't technically see it, I know he's all red.

"You did well," I said, patting him on the back.

"Come on, lets eat. There, there." I comforted.

That night, we weren't able to talk to Julia again as she was everywhere, attending to the VIPs. I even wondered if she got to eat at all.

I spent the entirety of my Sunday, laying in bed, binge-watching Brooklyn nine-nine.

And when Monday came, I only noticed my car was out of gas when I tried starting it.

I cursed under my breath, went out and starting walking out of the subdivision.

I was thinking of calling Cheska to come pick me up if possible but a familiar car slowed down beside me.

The window rolled down and Liam called out, "You're not using you car today?"

"Sadly, I'm out of gas. I don't even know how that happened."

"You could have called me. Get in," he reached in and opened the door of the passenger side.

I got in and said, "Oh yeah. I forgot we're buddies again,"

He chuckled, " 'Buddies'?"

"Chummy?" I suggested.

He laughed, "You can say friends, its okay."

When we reached school, for some reason everyone was looking at us.

Not in an individual kind of way.

Out of nowhere, Cheska came rushing. "I heard you got out of Liam's c.." she stopped when she saw Liam beside me.

"Oh. It was true? You're a couple? Bitch! Why didn't you tell me first?"

"What are you saying? We're not." Liam and I exchanged a confused look.

"What?" she asked, too. Then Cheska brought out her phone and showed the screen to us.

It was a bunch of picture of Liam and I at the party. The picture of us whispering at each other and the other was me taking off the crumbs on him.

But in the picture's point of view, it looked like we were flirting.

"It was only posted this morning in Twitter, and when you came out of his car, somehow people confirmed it.." she said.

"I don't have twitter," I stated.

"Well, looks like we're a couple. How come you didn't inform me?" I said to Liam.

Taking this seriously would only result to nothing good which Liam must be also thinking because he was only looking at the pictures amusedly.

"You and me both," he answered.
