Contains season 11 final Spoilers
right after Episode 11x23:
Dean couldn't believe it. That was to much. Of the schedule. Of all the things that might could have happen, this was not even Close to the last one he could think of. After all that just happen, with Amara and Chuck..... That was unbelievable already, the siblings finding peace and stuff, nobody dead and no next big world end apocalypse.
But this.
How could this be true?
Was he dead?
But he felt so alive. He knew how it felt being dead. Not like this at all! the fast heart beating, the drums in his ears, the goosebumps on his arms, the Lifting and lowering of his chest, breathing cold air.
"Mum?" he said again, just to be sure his voice worked. it was scratchy and insecure but worked. He blinked a few times but Mary Winchester was still staying in front of him in the white night Dress she died in. In the parc. In the middle of the night. Right there, close enough that he could touch her.
Mary herself looked like she didn't know what happened. Confused and helpless she stood there. Dean couldn't blame her. One second you're dead and the next you stand in front of your all grown up son.
She shivered in her night Dress. Dean saw the fear in her face, the alarming Expression. He took a step closer, taking of his jacket and handing it to her.
Mary slowly took it. Like she forgot how to use her body, like she had to remember how muscles and bones worked.
"Dean?" she choked out. Her eyes as big as moons. Dean nodded. Her voice. It sounded so real and unreal at the same time.
Marys face changed from bewildered to pure felicity.
She clutched her arms around her son and hugged him tied. Dean could feel her tears wetting his Shirt but he didn't care. He was holding his mother in his arms, something he thought he never could do again. But here she was. Dean could smell her shampoo, could feel her arms Holding him, could hear her voice crying in happiness. She was real. She was really real! Here, by his side. Dean hugged back, resting his head in her blond hair.
"Oh my god, Dean. I can't believe it" Mary broke apart to look at him, Holding his face between her Hands. Her eyes studied his face so thoroughly like she wanted to memorize every single Feature.
"Me neither" Dean responded. Doing the same and staring at her face. She looked exactly the same way he remembered. The color of her eyes, her smile..... everything.
"Tell me what happened." she asked after a while "Why am i here? I know i should be dead"
"I don't know. I guess Amara brought you back after she and Chuck made up. Doesn't matter, long story" Dean added after he saw the confused look at Marys face.
"Sam" it crossed Deans mind. "We have to go to the bunker and tell Sam. My phone doesn't work here" Dean smiled, imaginary Sams face when he could finally meet their mother. Mary's smile widened too.
"I would love to" she said.
They walked silently through the parc and found a taxi in the next main street. Dean had to look at his mother from time to time for making sure she was still there. That he wasn't just making all up in his mind. Mary looked out of the window of the car like a Little child. How Long was her last day on earth ago? Of course everything must seem new and confusing to her.
"I saw a bit from upstairs when i was watching over you, but it's different when you're really here." she said, staring on the passing Cars and People.
"You watched us?" Dean asked.
Mary turned around "Of course i did. I didn't saw all, the view wasn't the best all the time but i watched. I know what you were going through, you and Sam. And John" She squeezed Deans Hand, who felt the tears coming back.
The Driver set them off by the road, not asking questions why this oddly Pairing wanted to go to this abandonment place.
On their way to the entrance Dean told her about the Man of letters and the bunker. Mary nodded like she heard about them before, but this place was new to her.
Dean expected to find Sam around. But the bunker was quite. He tried Sams phone but nobody answered it. Dean hoped Sam didn't do anything stupid after Deans "death" and that Cas was by his side. Where was he? He had finally some good News for him and this dork was not here!
Suddenly Marys eyes widened. She was looking over this place, at the book shelfs, at the desk, looking around to spot her second son. But instead she saw a man appearing behind Dean.
He appeared in the door frame, not paying attention to her, only seeing Dean.
"Dean?" he said in a deep, Husky voice and bear hugging him, before Dean could react.
Dean Winchester was alive. He came back to him. Cas felt a weight falling of his chest.
"Cas. i'm glad to see you too" Dean hugged back, happy and relieved to see the angel.
"I thought i lost you forever" Cas mumbled into Deans Shirt.
"Na, you know me, death doesn't really like me around all the time" Dean joked, but Feeling a bit lighter now. He pulled him closer for a second before he heard his mother coughing.
"Don't you want to introduce us?" she smiled at both of them.
"Yeah, right." Dean broke apart. "Mum, this is Cas. Cas this is.." "Mrs Winchester, nice to meet you" Cas finished the sentence. Holding a Hand up, but Mary was already hugging him.
"thank you for looking after my Boys" she whispered into his ear. Dean couldn't hear it but saw Cas blush. "my pleasure" the angel replied.
"where is Sam, Cas?" Dean asked. Noticing something must have gone wrong.
"She took him. She waited here, Send me away and took him." Cas brow frowned. He knew he fucked up. Again. Dean asked him to look after Sam and he failed. Again. And now Mary was looking at him with that worried Expression. He felt uncomfortable in his Skin. He couldn't safe them. He wasn't able to protect Sam. You had one Job Cas
"Who?" Dean asked, every Alarm in his head went on.
"I don't have a Name yet, but she must be a hunter" Cas couldn't look at his eyes. He starred at the wall behind him instead.
"Cas, it's not your fault" Mary said. She still looked hurt, knowing her son in danger. But for the first time in a very Long time she was able to handle it herself. Mary straighten up.
"You both tell me what exactly is going on here" she said and set down at the table.
Dean and Cas exchanged a look but sat down too and started.
Mary didn't interrupt them or made any comment. After they finished she was silent for another couple of minutes before she finally said something
"This is why i didn't wanted you growing up like this. Like a hunter. I wanted you to be safe, not in this mess. All of you." she said quietly, tears in her eyes.
"I know" Dean replied. He knew that Mary tried a normal life, before that Demon took her. Before his father decided to teach the Brothers to hunt. Before everything went down the hill.
