<Stephanie's POV>
I wake up the next morning to Addie jumping in our bed which of course is nothing new. I hate getting up early so I groan and hide my head under the blankets. I hear Dylan whisper something to Addie and then it goes silent and still.
All of a sudden they both pounce on me and tickle me to death. I try pushing them off to keep from peeing my pants.
"Y'all stop it!" I squeal giggling.
"Are you gonna get up?" Dylan smirks
"Fine" I laugh sitting up.
Dylan picks Addie up and walks out of the room. I reach over to my nightstand to get my glasses and see the picture of the kid and his parents. I think to myself for a second that maybe I could try today to talk Dylan into at least finding him. I grab my glasses and leave to meet Dylan and Addie in the kitchen where they are making pancakes.
I walk up behind Dylan and wrap my arms around his waist and kiss his bare back softly.
"Good morning" I smile as I walk over to Addie and kiss the top of her nose making her giggle.
I walk over to the back doors and open them to let in the fresh air and I open some Windows. I go back into the kitchen and sit up on the counter next to Addie. After the two finish making dinner I take the plates and set the table with them shortly behind me.
After eating I took Addie up to her room to get her ready for school while Dylan took a shower. As I was walking into her room and she realized her daddy wasn't coming she starting crying throwing out.
"I want my daddy!!" She screamed at me while crying.
"Now Addison daddy needs to get ready for work and you need to get ready for school." I explain to her calmly.
She hits at my arm and screams 'daddy!'. Surprisingly it actually hurt a lot.
I grabbed her and took off her pjs and she turned to me and scratched me still throwing her tantrum. I pick her up and put her in her bed.
"Addison! That was not nice at all you hurt mommy" I reprimanded her. "You are going to stay in this bed until I say you can get up. Got it?"
"Noooo!!" She screams at me stomping her foot. She gets up out of her bed and runs out of the room before I could catch her.
I had been chasing her around the house when Dylan came out. Addie ran right under his legs while I ran right into him and fell back on my butt.
"Woah what's going on?" He chuckles helping me up and scooping Addie up in his arms making her squeal and giggle.
<Dylan's POV>
I just finished getting ready when I walked downstairs into the living room and the next thing I know Addie goes running under my legs and then steph comes running into me.
"Woah what's going on?" I chuckle helping steph up and scooping Addie in my arms making her squeal and giggle.
When I looked at steph I could see hurt in her eyes "she wants you to get her ready" she says before pushing past me and up the stairs I'm assuming to our room.
I look at Addie "little girl what did you do to mommy?"
She looked down at her hands "nothing daddy"
"Are you lying to me?" I ask, but she didn't answer so I knew she was lying.
"Lying and being mean to mommy are not acceptable behaviors young lady" I scold her.
Her bottom lip pops out quivering "I sowwy daddy" she says sadly.
I take her over to her room and sit her in the corner. I grab a bottle I had put water and glitter nail and shake it up.
"Now you don't get up until the glitter is all at the bottom. Understand?" I tell her
"But daddy.." She says about to argue.
I cut her off "no mam no buts you sit there and be silent until the glitter is at the bottom"
I walk out and hear her start to cry which completely breaks my heart but I have to keep strong.
I make my way to our bedroom and see steph on the bed crying which breaks my heart even more.
I walk over to her and rub her back and hug her "baby it's ok don't be upset "
"She- she doesn't love me" she sobs into her hands.
I pull her into my arms "are you kidding me she adores you" I assure her. "Addie is just going through a phase. It'll pass soon I promise" I say smiling at her and wiping the tears from her cheeks with my thumb.
After a few more minutes I hear the little pitter patter of feet and our door creak open slowly. I look up and smile at Addie and she jumps up onto the bed and hugs steph.
"I sowwy mommy I love you" Addie says
"Thank you I love you too princess" steph smiles.
