When her lips met his, emotion and desire collided in a fiery barrage of love and passion. His already muddled mind clouded even more. Burning desire jumped in the driver's seat and turned the key. Avi was scorched, his mind blown. Somehow, he managed to keep himself under control. His desire was tempered by an emotion he didn't fully understand and a deep and abiding patience. Normally, under most circumstances, and in many other situations, Avi would have relinquished control to his body's desire and not cared so much about the woman who placed her lips on his. Her kissing him would give him license to react accordingly. He would have kissed back. Fiercely taken control of the situation and run with it. This was a very different situation. Instead he surrendered to Rayne, allowing her to control the intensity of their kiss, their contact and the direction in which they went. His emotions swirled and churned as their lips gently tangled. Avi breathed her breath in, cherishing every precious moment, feeling every transition, his every nerve tingling. Even with the passion mounting he could control his mouth and most of his body, keep them steady and moving in time with her. He could not, however, stop his hands from moving. They had a mind of their own, and it didn't agree with his heart, they were everywhere at once, hungrily seeking her skin. His hands seemed bent on finding her skin, pulling her closer and touching her everywhere all at the same time. For as much as he could keep the rest of himself in check, Avi was completely unable to control those hands or stop the physical response her touch elicited from him. His hands slid up her back to cross in the middle as he pulled her closer to him. He longed to deepen that tender kiss and set the passion of desire free between them. Patiently, he waited for Rayne to start them on that path.

She still lay with only half her body over his, the physical contact grounding them, connecting them solidly, and driving them both wild. Avi wanted desperately to change that too; deepen it and bring more of their bodies into contact with each other. Slowly their lips danced. His hands roamed over her shoulders and back. Rayne was burning him with her tender loving kiss, igniting fires in his soul. His hands found her hair, wandered to the side of her neck. He wanted to break the kiss just to place his lips on that hot skin. Again, the hunger flared. She was warm under his hands where her shirt covered her body, her skin was on fire where is fingers found it. Avi breathed again and a soft deep moan rumbled past his lips. He didn't quite understand why this slow and passionate kiss was affecting him so deeply, but it most certainly was. Her hands were upon his face and neck, her fingertips tickling as they landed upon his skin. He was amazed at how good it felt to just be touched so simply. Avi got lost in how simple and comforting her touch was to him, how warm comforting and exciting it was to have her hands on his body, her tongue tangling his so tenderly. Despite the burn of his desire for more, he found his heart at ease, full and feeling complete. His heart was comfortable with the pace she was setting for them. Beyond that, he needed her to set it, to keep the pace even and slow, too fast and it would all be over before it could start. He still wanted to tear her clothes off. His hands followed the line of her back, his fingers softly tracing the contours of the muscle down her back as it flexed and changed with her moving arms and slow gentle pulse of her hips, until he found her waist. Once there, they crossed over each other until each hand rested on her hips and latched on. Avi pulled her to him, held her there briefly before letting loose his grip. Rayne moaned into his lips. Just when he was certain he'd reached his breaking point, she pulled her lips away from his with a playful little nip at his bottom lip and a smile more radiant than the sun. It was nearly his undoing. Avi drew in a breath and instantly forgot how to let it out. A thousand tiny sparks shot through his body, his eyes tried to close tighter as his hands got all tangled in her shirt. He could feel her breath upon his lips, the tip of her nose tickled his. She was inches away, yet he felt like they were oceans apart. He wanted her lips back on his, needed it like he needed the air he wasn't breathing. She lingered near, driving him to the brink of insanity.
