"MERRY CHRISTMAS ASSHOLES!" I yell as I bang on the coffee table in front of me. Christmas had arrived and it was freezing but not snowing at least. Jack made this winter incredibly white for a while but eventually had to move on.
"Ya know Ash as much as I appreciate this mug why did you even get me it?" Rush inquires from the kitchen as he immediately put my gift to use.
"I mean what are you gonna do with it now?" I ask walking in and grabbing myself a mug as well.
"Drink hot chocolate." He replies confused.
"Exactly. Also save me some of it." I gleefully tell him, setting my cup down next to him and walking toward the living room. "Hmm do you think-" I grab the lonely gift box "- Jack will actually remember we invited him for Christmas?"
It was kinda disappointing to have to wait a year to possibly see the spirit again and give him the gift. We were kinda excited to see him and surround him with our presence. The cold night sky however didn't show any signs of Jack's snow flurries or his icy frost. However that didn't stop rush who was thankful for the peace and quiet he's received.
"Let's just drink this cocoa and watch the last few Christmas movies on air yeah?" He comforts me, handing the cocoa mug to me and turns on the tv from the unchanged channel of the past month.
Little did happen and soon I was going to have to leave. I promised my parents I'd visit for New Years before coming back for the new semester. School would start soon and so will the spring. The movies will change and the sky will too. I won't see Jack for a while I believe, or hear Rush yelling about the latest frosty prank he's found. The weather will grow warmer and the grass will grow longer once the snow dissipates. But for now the family gifts will be given in two days and hopefully Jack picks up his.
Eventually I woke up the next morning in my bed and started for the long trip home. I left one box under the tree for now.
