Just another day

It's been a few weeks since Rush first met Jack. In that time, we've had endless amounts of fun. Whenever Jack finished his usual chores, as he called them, he'll come over and beg to play. Usually I was the one who wasn't busy seeing as Rush had a steady job and I was working every few days.

Today Jack had made plans for us. Rush was unnaturally excited to see the white haired boy. Usually Rush dreaded the encounters with him, even if we were only walking out to watch the scenery. He just couldn't understand the concept around the being of Jack Frost. He's always trying to find the scientific way to explain his existence, even if Frost himself has a very vague idea.

No matter, to waste the time I decided to put up the Christmas decorations. Usually Rush was here for the tree so I saved that for another day. Meanwhile, I'll be putting up the stockings, candles, wall decorations and the likes.

I was dancing around the living rooms while adjusting the last of the decorations. The home in general was a combination of many colors with a rainbow theme, as too not have to worry about coordinating colors and have whatever the hell we want cause why not.

Little to my knowledge did I recognize the presence of Jack Frost who had been evidently standing there smirking at me for the last ten minutes or so.

"Well it's nice to see your in the holiday spirit." Jack Frost says and he leans on the door frame. There wasn't much to have done around the house. Isn't as festive as I was but I thought I was home alone. Now being that I was, I had decided to use a playlist of Christmas carols and a few of my favorite songs. Eventually I began to dance around the house, which led to jack finding me twirling around the living room.n

"Great...... Just great......" I sighed dreading the next few moments of my life. "Well feel free to laugh at me or whatever." I add, continuing my decorating.

"It was cute actually." Frost says from across the room picking up some lights on the table. "Where do these go?" He asks then I point towards the stairs only saying "Rail." Frost follows the direction and start to twirl them around the white rail and add the tinsel as a finishing touch and protector of the wires.

A few hours later the decorations were practically complete as Jack and I twirl around and dance to the music. We had been having lots of fun until Rush ran in yelling, "NO ONE PUTS UP A TREE WITHOUT ME!"

"We didn't." Jack started.

"BUT THERE ARE DECORATIONS AND ASH IS DANCING!"

"HEY THAT DOESNT MEA-" "We didn't touch the tree."

And then silence as Rush stares us down unconvinced we didn't put up the Christmas tree. However Jack was not going to put up with Rush's rude interruption of the festive activities.

"Look! The tree stuff-" Jack said as he pulled out the boxes of tree decorations, "is still in boxes."

"Oh... well let's start then!" Rush states as if he didn't cause an awkward encounter a minute ago.

In any case, Jack, Rush and I began to decorate our tree with the many colors we had. It was fun, playing around and having company to be silly with. Putting up the decorations and making fun of the songs before Rush changed it to rock. Soon can the time for the star to adorn he tree and finish up the work. This year however, I wouldn't be putting up the star.

"Hey Jack want to put up the star?" I ask the floating man putting away extra decorations or empty plastic boxes. He quickly stops and turns around looking very excited, "really?!"

Rush looks at the boy with an annoyed face before saying "why are we asking then?"

Jack wouldn't take any more as he ran up and ripped the star out of my hand. Floating up, thankfully, he gently placed the star on its throne and smiled at his well done task. "Alright time for me to go do shit away from you." Rush says as he placed the last box into the closet and heads to his room.

Meanwhile, I go into the kitchen to prepare dinner. Being the cold winter night, I decided some soup would be the best bet. And so, twenty minutes later soup is done and ready for the eating, if Rush hadn't taken a nap. "Oh well he can eat when he wants to I guess." I say shrugging, turning on the TV and watching more movies.

"The frost on the tree were a nice touch." I compliment Jack who continues to frost the house in beautiful patterns. "However it stays kinda cold haha."

"Oh sorry. I'll stop here." Jack grimly says before taking a seat on the couch and watching whatever was on.

I stand by the island table and eat from there observing Jack and watching the TV. There wasn't anything to talk about with him so I left him to watch as I finished and went to bed.

"Night Frost" I mumbled to myself.

"Night Valentine" he whispers as he leaves my window open.
