One Month Later
Patrick walked over to a coffee shop. He had the day off and decided to just go around Chicago. As soon as he walked into the shop, the smell of coffee beans and chocolate filled the air. It was one of his favorite smells. He looked around for a free table, but instead he saw you. You were all alone and...crying.
Gathering all of his courage, he walked over to you. You looked up and saw him. He was smiling at you.
"Hey." he greeted.
You weakly smiled back. "Hey." You pointed to the chair that was next to you. "You can sit next to me if you want. It's been a while."
Patrick thought you were treating his like an old friend instead of a really mean ex. He didn't mind though. He sat in the chair. "Thanks!"
You took a sip of your coffee and then dried your tears with your napkin. You briefly glanced at your ex. He had a really concerned look of his face.
"(Y/N), is everything alright?"
Before replying, you took another sip. "Michael cheated on me. I just found out last night." You took a few deep breaths. "The weddings off."
Patrick hugged you. "I'm so sorry. If you want to be alone, I completely understand. I can g-"
"No! Please!" you interrupted. "Sorry. I just need someone to stay with me. I...missed you, Patrick."
His heart felt lighter. He grinned. "I missed you too, (Y/N)." You smiled. He loved your smile. He especially loved it when he was the one that caused it. He took a deep breath. "I regret leaving you. No one should ever treat you this way. I'm so sorry."
You quickly stood up and he did the same. He had no idea what you were doing. He thought it was because of what he said.
"I'm sorry. That was probably way too soon. I just wanted to tell you that for a while and I-"
You kissed him. He was a little tense at first, but then he gave in.
"I still love you, Patrick." you told him. His smile was huge.
"I still love you too!" he exclaimed. Everyone was watching. He looked around the room and his face was a little red. "Will you take me back and we can try again?"
"Of course, Patrick!" You threw your arms around each other. Everyone was clapping. There was one group of people that were the loudest.
"Yeah! Go Patrick!" Pete, Joe and Andy shouted. You and Patrick laughed.
You and Patrick got married exactly one year after you got back together.
