I follow the boys back into the woods, Mitch wiping the soot off of his clothes and face.

"I hate getting dirty. But, it was totally worth it. Yeah. But what's our new game plan? We've gotta have one." Mitch asks, and we all look at Scott.

"Why are you guys looking at me?" Scott asks and I grin a little at him.

"Cause, you're our leader." I say and he looks at me, and he grins a little.

"So, you guys really think I'm the leader of our little ragtag group? Because, we've never had, like, a vote to determine it before." He says awkwardly, and Avi nods.

"Scott, you're the leader, dude. It kinda goes without saying. It's gone without saying since our not-so-epic escape from Sterlingson." Avi says and I know that that historic day of our lives is playing through our head right now. I touch my leg where Sterlingson stabbed me absentmindedly, and Mitch looks at me with an understanding look.

"Ok, well, we've gotta get our parents back. We have to. It's a pretty accurate assumption, I'm assuming, that Sterlingson took them, and burned the house down to try and trick us into believing that they were dead. We just have to find him, and then we'll know for sure. So, just in case, we need to come up with Plans A through, at least, M." Scott says strongly and we all look at him with a partially amused look on our faces.

"Do you really think it'll take that many plans to save them?" I ask quietly and Scott looks at me.

"I hope not. But I don't want any of us getting hurt in any way shape or form. We're a team, and we are all in this together." Scott says, his eyes very determined.

"Guys, we shouldn't stick together. We should be in two groups. That way, if Sterlingson somehow manages to kidnap one group, he won't have all of us. It makes a lot of sense." Kevin say as we begin to plan.

"But we'll be more vulnerable separated. I don't know about that." Mitch says uncertainly, and I place a hand on his shoulder.

"I know it's a risk, but I think Kev's onto something. We may be more vulnerable that way, but we can move faster and have less of a chance of all of us getting caught. I say we split up." Avi says, backing Kevin.

"I agree with Mitch. Guys, we don't even know how much control we have over our powers. This just gives me a bad feeling in my gut." I say, and Mitch nods firmly.

"Kev, Avi, I do agree with you guys, but Kirstie has a really valid point. We need to get some training behind us before we go. Like, Avi, you've gotta get that teleportation under control. And Kev, we've gotta see what all that brilliant brain of yours can do. So, I say we compromise this. First, we train up all of our abilities. Then, we split into the two groups. Then, infiltration. And finally, kicking Sterlingson's butt and get our families back." Scott says and we all grin.

"So, that's plan A, correct?" Mitch says, and Scott ruffles his hair.

We keep planning, and then we all get kinda tired. And hungry.

"Guys, I want some food." Avi says plainly and we all kinda chuckle.

"Why don't you teleport into town, grab some food, and then teleport back. You can take somebody with you, that way you can carry everything." Kevin suggests and Avi springs up.

"That's a good idea. So, who wants to come with?" Avi asks and Scott gets up.

"I'll go too. And while we are gone, you guys can set up a base camp. That way we have somewhere to sleep." Scott says and we nod.

"Yeah, I'm sure we can handle that." Mitch says with a yawn.

"Alright. Well, we'll be back by nightfall. Hopefully." Avi says and he grabs onto Scott's arm. He closes his eyes, and in a split second they are gone.

Kevin helps me up, and we go collect a bunch of branches while Mitch gets the structure set in place with his telekinesis.

"Do you think we have a shot of beating him?" I ask Kevin quietly as we are picking up some logs.

"Yeah, yeah. Of course we do. We can do it. Where's that question coming from? I know it's coming from somewhere." Kevin asks and I sigh.

"I don't know. I just have this really really bad feeling about this. I don't know why; I just do." I say with a sigh as we walk back to Mitch, who is putting the last log in place.

We finish laying the logs on the ground and then we sit, waiting for Scott and Avi to come back.

Nightfall comes and still no Avi. Still no Scott.

"Where are there? It's been like two hours." Mitch says nervously, and I pull my knees up to my chest.

"Guys, it's fine. I'm sure they are about to come back. I'm sure of it." Kevin says, trying to reassure us all, and I lay down, and close my eyes.

Suddenly, flashes go before my eyes. A building collapsing to the ground. People fighting, blood everywhere. And then, a force field that forms seconds before pieces of rubble hit it.

I jolt up with a gasp, my eyes wide with horror.

"Kit? Kirstie, what happened? What's wrong?" Mitch says, and I draw a shaky breath.

"Scott and Avi are in trouble. They've gotta be. I-I saw something. A battle. And I think we were fighting it." I say, looking at the two boys.

"Kirstin, are you sure? Are you positive that's what you saw?" Kevin asks, placing a hand on my arm. I nod shakily, looking at him.

"We have to find them. We have to find Scott and Avi!" Mitch says, jumping up.

We were in for a wild next few days. I could tell.
