It seemed that Monday came all too soon after Clara and I visited our father. It was like Sunday hadn't even happened.
I woke up to my alarm and immediately felt Clara's small body next to mine. I sighed in frustration at myself, knowing that I had another and didn't make it through the night once again.
Clara stirred slightly and turned to look at me with a smile. "Good morning."
"Good morning. Did you sleep well?" I asked.
She nodded, too tired to give me a verbal answer.
"Come on, let's get dressed. We have to be at school soon." I replied.
Clara climbed out of my bed and slowly walked out of my room and to her own so she could get ready for the day. Once she left, I walked to my closet and grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and a long sleeve shirt, along with my white converse. I quickly straightened my hair and did my makeup before walking downstairs to get breakfast.
When I got to the kitchen, I saw a plate of toast, a bowl of Fruity Pebbles, and a glass of milk already set out on the counter. Beside it sat Clara, who was munching on her own cereal. I smiled and ruffled her hair from behind.
"Hey, watch it! I love you and all, but don't touch the hair!" Clara said, moving her head away from my hand.
"Whatever, but thanks for breakfast." I answered, sitting down to eat my food.
"You're welcome." She said with a smile.
Once we finished, we both cleaned our plates and headed upstairs to brush our teeth and grab our backpacks. I finished before Clara, so I ended up waiting in the car for her outside.
When she climbed in, I grinned. "Why does it take you an hour to brush your teeth?"
"No one likes a person with vampire breath, just saying." Clara answered nonchalantly.
I busted out laughing at her response and pulled out of the driveway. "Vampire breath?"
"Well yeah. You know, they are dead people that are alive. I'm pretty sure they smell terrible. But I'm no vampire expert, so I have no idea." She replied.
I snickered and smiled. "Vampire breath."
.-.-.-.After I dropped Clara off at school, I drove myself to the high school, which is the last place I want to be. I'm not that person that loves school and has a billion and one friends. I'm more of that person that no one knows about.
Which is something I'm totally okay with.
I parked in the student parking lot and slowly made my way inside, twirling my car keys around my finger before placing them into my backpack. I tried to delay going into school as much as I could, considering it is the last place I wanna be.
No one wants to go to a place where they're ignored 24/7.Not that I'm not used to being ignored, since my mother has been doing it for a while now and I've never been very popular in school. But, when you're known as the girl whose father died, you're probably one of the last people on someone's list to be friends with.
I walked inside the building with my phone in my hands, not even attempting to look at where I was going. Which ended up costing me because I ran right into someone and knocked them and myself over.
Good job, Chloe. 10/10
"Are you alright?" A male's voice asked.
I looked up from the floor to see a very attractive teenaged boy sitting on the floor in front of me with concern in his eyes. He had brunette close cropped hair and vibrant green eyes that could make any girl melt.
''I should be asking you that, since I'm the one that ran into you.'' I answered with a smile.
He chuckled back before getting up off the floor and picking up his backpack. He then held a hand out to help me up off of the floor. He gave me my backpack and smiled.
''What's your name?'' He asked.
''Chloe. You?''
''Tyler.''
I smiled and was about to continue talking to him, but I was interrupted by the sound of the first hour bell.
''I'll see you later, Chloe.'' He said with a smile before walking off.
How cliché was that?
