Chapter 2

Mary's pov
I woke up to Francis laying peacefully next to me asleep. I leaned over and gave him a feather like kiss. I sat up and made myself somewhat presentable and ready. I stepped into the bathroom. This is the same bathroom where I found out I had life growing in me and now...I can't believe I was about 3 weeks along and then I just lost the life inside of me. I just sat there silently crying letting the hot painful tears slid down my cheeks for the loss of my child. I wonder, would he of been just like me or just like Francis, or would he be a perfect blend of us both. I held my stomach clenching it. I just wanted to punch myself over and over again straight in the gut. I deserved it. I couldn't help it my eyes burned again even more painfully then the last and I could only assume that I had looked awful with red rimmed eyes and puffy irritated under eyes from all the rubbing.
    My body shook and shook from the sobs that left my body as I slid down the wall of the bathroom. What am I going to do? The pain is so much. How can it hurt so much to lose something that I never really had.

After I left the bathroom red rimmed and exhausted. I went to my chambers and noticed Francis was no longer in the room but a strange man. He sauntered over to me and noticed my eyes and my appearance and his eyes held sympathy. His raspy voice spoke and I immediately tried to run. "I'm so sorry people in high places are making me do this. He said he would harm my family. My children." he started to pull out a knife I paused. "Wait your children?" He stopped. He looked into my sorrowful eyes and nodded. I gestures for him to stop and surprisingly he did and I pulled him close. "I know how it feels to lose a child I recently just lost the dear life inside of me. You can trust me when it I say I will protect you and your family if you tell me who did this. Or at least a very valuable hint." He came closer to me and whispered, "you lost your child. I'm so sorry your majesty." I nodded at his sympathy feeling the burning sensation in my eyes again but tried to push it down. "Well I'll give you a huge clue. Or a riddle. Your bonded by blood, but not but god. Your against each other daily without actually being in front of each other. You may be neighbors but you certainly but you know what they say about keeping your enemies closer. Thank you your majesty." I nodded and called in the guards. 
"You have my protection if anything suspicious happens come to me. You are free to go." I said and he bowed "Thank you so much my family and me thank you." I thought a second and I said "Guards escort him to his house to ensure his safety. I will later send them a taster and he is now a friend to the kingdom."

  "Thank you. Your majesty" they left quickly, and quietly and I went back up to my chambers to retire and Francis came up to me confused, "Why were some of the guards leaving under your command with a man that we've never met?" I sighed. I ran my hand through my loose hair and started to explain everything to him and he smiled at me. "You handled that like no other Queen would've. Most would've just let him rot in prison because he tried to kill you to protect but you understood. I admire that about you Mary. I love you." I sighed and leaned my head against his chest and murmured, "I want to retire with my husband now would you please come to bed with me husband." We walked hand in hand and started to get red for bed when all the sudden, our moment was ruined by the one and only Queen Catherine. She barged in and said "King Henry is leaving to go for war against poland."
"And how does this have to do with anything with us?" Francis asked "He requested that you come before he leaves." we both sighed and said "oh ok we'll be up in a minute."
We reluctantly sat up and went out to say goodbye to his father and his army.
