I got into my car and took a deep breath. I had just ran from the school to my car because it is raining.

Rain pattered onto the windows of my car. I watched the raindrops sliding down the window. it was like a race, whichever drop made it to the bottom first won.

I closed my eyes for what felt like a minute but when I opened my eyes it had been five minutes. I shifted in the drivers seat and closed my eyes once more.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

I jumped in my seat and looked out the passenger window to see... Riley Matthews knocking on it. My heart began racing.

"Unlock the door please." She said while her body was dripping with water. I frantically unlocked the door and Riley opened it and sat down.
She just sat there and didn't say anything.

"Do you want me-" I began to say.

"Don't talk." She cut me off. She closed her eyes and quietly sobbed. I felt bad for her. "I don't get it."

I didn't say anything like she requested. I wanted to ask her why did you come in my car where is yours? Do you need a drive?

"What the hell am I going to be without her? She is the reason I am popular... I'm going to be a nobody." Riley looked at me and I didn't respond. I tried not to talk but I gave up.

"You will not be a nobody, everyone likes you for you. You're sweet and kind and just real" I said and her big brown eyes stared into mine. "Need me to drive you home?"

"Yes, please." She said and I started my car and she told me where to go. When I got to her house she still sat in my car. Her phone dinged and she picked it up and I could see her heart shatter. It had to be about her crush and Maya hooking up.

"Thank you... um- Farkle?" She said and I nodded. Riley leaned in and kissed my cheek. She left and my smile grew. I drove home and walked in the house. There was a note on the fridge reading: Whole family is out for dinner will be home later xoxox.

"HIGGS" I called my kitty. When Higgs came running I expressed my happiness by telling him what happened.

Tomorrow was Friday and I had to start tutoring and I'm not excited at all. I decided tonight I'd just chill and play video games.

The next day I woke up and put on a black nike sweater and black jeans. I styled my hair and left.

Riley Matthews

Everything was crashing down for me. I lost my only friend and I have nobody now. Apparently Maya was hooking up with my crush Charlie but that's fine.

I met a nice nerdy kid named Farkle. I wonder what schools gonna be like now that Maya and I are done being friends. I walked into school and eyes were glued onto me.

I greeted people and new students also. Everyone still treated me the usual way. Farkle was right, I am still popular because people like me as a person.
After school my dad held me behind.

"Riley I got a note from mr. Neal your science teacher and he said your failing. So, you are supposed to be tutored right now in the library." My father said. I contemplated arguing but I just went with it. I walked to the library and looked for my tutor.

The person I'm supposed to be tutoring is ten minutes late and I was about to leave when I saw Riley walk in and look around. She is walking my direction!

"Hey, Farkle... Are you my tutor?" She asked and I nodded. She set her bag down and then sat herself down across from me.

"I guess I'm failing science." Riley said while holding her pencil in her right hand.

I explained all the work she got and she began to understand. I did a couple science work sheets with her and she got most questions right. After tutoring she stopped me. She grabbed my wrist and I turned around.

"Listen Farkle, I know I don't know you too well but I need to thank you for everything you've done for me the past couple of days. Nobody treats me like that... Thank you."
