Riley walked into school on Monday as herself but she was wearing jeans instead of a skirt. Her clothes were completely different but nothing is wrong with getting a new wardrobe. Her hair was dyed back to normal but cut a little shorter.
But she didn't walk in alone, she was with a woman of colour and she was very pretty herself but not my type. They looked like friends... Now that Riley has a friend she's going to forget about me.
I tried to get her out of my mind but as soon as she was out, she was in again. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I saw a text from RileySunshine on splinter.
RileySunshine: Mars, I hope your having a good day! c:
MarsMan: The feeling is mutual. My day is going to be crumby but I hope it will get better. :/
I slid my phone in my pocket and shut my locker and turned around to see the gorgeous brunette standing right behind me with a large smile on her face.
I jumped a little because it caught me off guard. Her little friend chuckled at my reaction.
"Farkle! This is my friend Nia, she just moved here from Philadelphia." Riley said in a cheery tone. I felt annoyed from the presence of Nia.
"Nice to meet you, kid." Nia said and waved. KID? Seriously it's like she knows I'm annoyed. I just half smiled and nodded my head in return.
The bell rang and I rushed to my classes. I couldn't focus because I was texting Riley as Mars. I know it's a pretty screwed up thing to text her as an anonymous person but I'm too scared to text her as me. As Mars I can say anything without feeling nervous or friend-zoned.
RileySunshine: Do you have any cool stories? :)
MarsMan: When I was eight years old I was playing outside and a cat came up to me and I started petting him. When I walked away it started following me, everywhere I went he went too. I ignored him and walked home and when I opened my door the cat walked in with me... We kept him and now he's practically my best friend.
RileySunshine: aw I wish I could have a pet. :(
MarsMan: why can't you?
RileySunshine: I live in an apartment. It kinda sucks but there are pros and cons.
MarsMan: What animal would you get if you could?
RileySunshine: A puppy! :P
MarsMan: my cat Higgs!

RileySunshine: TOO LATE YOU LOST ME MARS!
MarsMan: *wipes tears*
"FARKLE! What is the answer for number one?" My math teacher basically yelled in my face as I looked up from my lap where my phone laid.
"I-Um 67?" I responded quickly and he nodded and turned around writing it on the board.
After school I went home and sat in the living room.
"Farkle play tea party with me!" Grace tugged on the sleeve of my shirt. I groaned.
"Just play with her Farkle, I've been too busy today." My mom said from the kitchen and I stood up and walked with Grace to her room.
"You can have this seat!" Grace pulled out a small pink plastic chair. I sat on it awkwardly because of how small it was and how long and tall I was.
We pretended to drink tea and I was finally dismissed after a bit. As soon as I left her room my mom was calling me over.
"Farkle, can you feed Polly please!" She asked and I agreed. I got her some peas and carrot mush.
I put it in a bowl and got a plastic baby spoon.
"Here comes the airplane...?" I said confused and I fed her. She giggled at me as I fed her.
I got up to go to my room after feeding her. I was on my way when Leo started bugging me about Riley again.
"So how's the relationship?" Leo teases and I rolled my eyes walking to my room.
"Do you have anything better to do like your laundry?" I gave him a dirty look and he shook his head.
"Mom does that!" He smirked and I laughed at him.
"You want a phone but you don't even do your own laundry? What a shame." I laughed and he crossed his arms and walked away. I closed my door and fell onto my bed.
My mom was the most hardworking person I've ever met. She does everything for our family, it makes me upset that my father doesn't do as much. They should have it equal.

I locked my phone and got into bed and fell asleep thinking about how much my life has changed since the first day of school.
