TARO POV
I made it to science class and that weirdo roommate of mine was in there with me. The teacher introduced herself but I wasn't paying attention so I'm just gonna call her Miss Pawfection since she's another Neko.
"Alright class. I realize you want to know more about each other but we have to start lessons today so does anyone want to start with a certain subject?"
"What about imprinting," some wolf kid asked. He was on the opposite side of of Jiro who sat himself next to me.
"That's actually a very good subject. Does anyone know anything about imprinting," she asked.
"I know you can't change your mate after imprinting on someone," Jiro said.
I think he knows a bit more than that.
"Very good. Imprinting is something most people in the wolf category are accustomed to. A young wolf male will often feel his hormones rise and will then proceed to find a mate. When they feel they have found them, they will imprint on them which binds them together for the rest of their lives."
"What about if one of them aren't a wolf," some bird girl asked.
"Then it still binds them together. But it is often harder for the other to realize they were imprinted on. First they will experience nervousness or hostility around the one who imprinted on them, then they will start to feel a sort of connection but they will always deny it. Finally, they will admit they are connected to the one who imprinted and will come to accept their fate."
"Can they help who they mate with," I saw Melody in the front of the class.
"Often times no. It can happen at any moment and the young males will often feel a bit depressed about it when they find out. You see, there are some cases where you can act like an alpha and accept your fate, or you can hide away like a kitten and think that you made a mistake."
The bell rang and everyone started getting their books together.
"We'll pick this up tomorrow," the teacher said as we started leaving. I caught up with Melody and saw me had music next.
"Aren't you a junior? Why are you taking Senior level classes," I asked.
"I'm a super genius. If you ask me, Gil needs to be in Junior classes. He only passed because I did all his homework last year."
We laughed and I felt a presence next to me.
"What now Jiro? Will you stop following me?"
"Sorry. Can't since we have the same classes," he said with a smirk. I sighed and Melody blushed lightly.
"Who's your friend Taro?"
"He's far from my friend. He's a giant ass," I said with a sneer.
"Thank you kitten," Jiro said with a smirk.
"This is my roommate Jiro," I said with a sigh. "Jiro, this is my friend Melody."
"Hello," Melody said with a smile before we reached the music room. I sat in the middle of the two and saw my brother walk in.
"Taro!" He ran over and attacked me in a hug and I just tried prying him off.
"Get off dammit," I scolded him.
"But I haven't seen you all day and the only other class we have together is the last one," he said with some tears.
"Calm down you big baby. Seriously, you really are the younger one."
"Yep! And stop saying things Uncle would say, that just makes me miss him."
"Just wait until Christmas break. Then we can go home and see him."
He nodded and gave Melody a hug before sitting beside her. That's when the teacher walked in and we began class.
She explained that we were going to start learning a bit on music history the next day but she was going to give us a day to sit and chat.
"So how are your classes Taro," Tomo asked.
"Fine. I have science with Melody," I said with a grin.
"Judging by our schedules, you'll have English with me too," she said with a smile. "And I'll have History and Math with you Tomo."
"Yay! And I already checked with Gil. He's going to be in English and math with Taro," Tomo said.
"Sweet. What about college prep," I asked.
"Looks like we all have that together," Melody stated with a grin.
"You even take that class, why am I not surprised," I said with a laugh.
"But we don't have gym with you and Gil doesn't take it for his health," Melody added.
"Hey Taro, can I talk to you for a minute," Jiro whispered in my ear.
"Eh? Sure." We got up and walked to the corner of the room before he turned to me.
"So I have a few questions."
"Okay."
"I'm guessing that's your brother..."
"Obviously."
"But how do you know Melody and that Gil guy?"
"They rode with us on the train. Problem with them?"
"No. Just that I didn't expect you to know anyone else here on your first day."
"Well I do. Is that all you needed?"
"No. Look, you know how the science teacher was talking about imprinting?"
"What about it?"
"Well, I think I accidentally imprinted on you," he said with a frown.
"Okay. Stop joking."
"I'm not!"
The bell rang and it was time for gym so I ran to the field as fast as I could. We got there and I bumped into another wolf. He started to growl at me and I couldn't even form words so he got angrier and turned into a giant blue and black wolf. The coach was on his way to stop it but before he could I heard someone call my name.
"Taro!" Jiro jumped over me and shifted into a giant white wolf with lilac-grey tips along his ears, tail, and paws. He also had eyes to match and was snarling with the other wolf.
"Boys! Stop!" The coach said as he got between them. "I want you to shift back now or you both have detention!"
The two glared at one another even after shifting back. They were only in pants and I noticed the burn mark on Jiro's shoulder.
"Both of you go back to your dorms and get a shirt. Jiro, I'm calling your brother and Matt, I'm contacting the principal."
The two nodded and Jiro looked at me before walking towards the dorms.
He protected me? Was Jiro serious about the imprinting thing?
