I opened my eyes, too cold and stiff to move. "Cato," I whispered. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. "It's time for the feast." I said. He grabbed a spear and stood. He held out his hand to me to help me up off the ground. I got to my feet, and brushed the pine needles that had fallen during the night off my shirt and onto the dirt. We hiked for a bit, and reached the Cornucopia. The sun will rise in a couple minutes, and we looked as the table rose from the grass. We looked around, and no one was running for their pack yet. They're all to scared, wondering who will dare take the risk first. Then, out of no where, the foxfaced girl from 5 dashed out of the Cornucopia and grabbed her bag. She sprinted into the woods with her pack. Why didn't Cato and I think of that? So clever, dangerous...everything I am! I ran toward the table and was just about to turn to get it, when Fire Girl was running. Right towards me. I quickly grabbed a knife, and tried to hit her in the heart, but out of all the quickness I got her right above the eyebrow. She collapsed under the pain and force. I tackled her, but she's bigger than I am so she has an advantage there. I was stabbing blindly, trying to get her throat where she will bleed to death. She tried to pin me on my back. But somehow, a miracle came. I was on top of her chest.

"Where's your boyfriend, District 12? Still hanging on? I bet you have him strapped up in some tree while you try to keep his heart going." I said. She struggled to breath as she attempted to escape. "He's out there now, hunting Cato. PEETA!!" She screeched. I made a fist and jammed it into her throat. I frantically looked around, making sure she wasn't telling the truth. "Liar. He's nearly dead. Now where it begin?" I tilted her head from side to side, deciding where to carve. She coughed blood into my face. "Well then, let's get started. Your lips? Yes, I don't think you'll have much use for your mouth anymore. Wanna blow Lover Boy one last kiss?" I asked sweetly. She attempted to escape, but I hit her temple with mine. She lay on the grass, in pain. "Forget it, District 12. We're going to kill you. Just like we did your pathetic little ally. What was her name again? The one who hopped in trees? Rue? Well first Rue, then you, and I think we'll just let nature take care of Lover Boy. How does that sound?" I asked. I got my smallest knife and carved a heart into her cheek. I was just about to finish her off, when a large force ripped me off her chest and slammed me up against the Cornucopia. "You kill her? Did you cut her up like you were going to cut up this girl here?" Thresh screamed. I shook my head. "N-no!! It wasn't me!!! Cato! Cato!" I screeched. That's when I saw the rock. About the size of a loaf of bread. I got a cringe face on, but the rock never killed me. I opened my eyes and saw Cato steal the rock from Thresh's grip and slam it against his head. Thresh didn't die. He's too strong. Cato drew his sword and tried stabbing Thresh, but Thresh used his own weapon as a shield. Cato and Thresh taught. But not punching and insults. I'm talking stabbing, yelling, screaming, bleeding...over me....

This isn't right. Thresh is bigger than Cato, he's going to win this battle and then kill me. The only plus is that he will kill Fire Girl. I can't stand it anymore, blood is flying in all directions. I grabbed my knife and hurled it into the chaos. Worried I'd hit Cato, I jumped back with my hands on my mouth. But I'd hit Thresh. Good. Fire Girl sat in shock, watching all of it. I tackled her again. "Now, where were we?" I asked quietly. Cato was standing over her in full view, chuckling at her gory end. I took a knife and stabbed her in the heart. But I'm not done. She has done too much to us for it to be gone. The canon fired. Fire Girl died. I got a small knife and carved LOVER BOY AND KATNISS TOGETHER FOR NEVER into her forehead. I stepped back and ran to the woods with Cato. We heard the canon, signaling another death. I spent the rest of the day in a tree, playing with leaves. It was soon dark, and he anthem played. 5, then 11, then 12. Foxface died. Thresh died. But the Peeta's face showed. "Oh my God," I whispered. Cato and I just won. The Hunger Games. But where's the trumpets? The hovercraft? Why aren't we home? In that moment, Claudius Templesmith spoke. "Attention tributes, there may only be one winner. The previous rule change has been...revoked. May the odds be ever in your favor." Without thinking, I stabbed Cato in the heart. I just killed the love of my life. Perfectly, the trumpets played and the hovercraft whisked me away. I got interviewed again, and I was soon home in my own house alone. No family. I'm Clove, forever alone.
