Hayden P.O.V
I woke up and got out of bed. Hating the idea of going to work, but I need to pay the bills somehow. I rolled out of bed and put on a fresh, clean outfit and put my hair in a high ponytail. I wasn't in the mood to be bothered to do my makeup so I left, bare faced. I got into my car and drove to the coffee shop.
As soon as I arrived I was greeted by Kurt. "Hey Hayden." He said joyfully. "Hey Kurt." I responded. "How's it going?" He asked. "Everything's going great." I said, not wanting to express my true emotions. "That's good, well let's get started." He said gesturing to the coffee machines. We turned them on and began our shifts. I was in the middle of making coffee when Kurt came up to me. "Hey, me and Ryan are gonna go out for some drinks tomorrow night. You wanna come with us?" He asked. "Oh, um. Sure! Why not?" He smiled. "Okay great. I can't wait." He said, then went back to work. I couldn't help but think of Julian. I wanted to just forget about him but I couldn't. I was more than certain that being in a long term relationship would bring me nothing but heart break. But I couldn't help myself, something about Julian was just so alluring. I just need to distract myself. I think it'll be good for me to go out with Ryan and Kurt tomorrow.
When I got off of work I decided to give Jocelyn a call. It had been a while since I had seen her. I could use a friend right about now. "Hey Jocelyn, what are you up to?" I asked. "Not much, just a little bored." She responded. "How's everything going with Julian?" She asked. "Not to good, it's complicated..." I said sadly. "Oh, but as of now are you guys together or...?" She asked. "I'm not entirely sure, to be honest." Feeling depressed. "How about you and Valensi?" I asked. "We've gone out on a few dates and a few days ago he asked me to be his girlfriend." I could here the joy in her voice. "I'm so happy for you. At least one of us gets to be happy." I responded. "I'm sure and Julian can work things out." She said hopefully. " that's the thing, I don't know if I want to work things out anyway..." She paused for a moment. "Where are you?" She asked. "I just got home. Why?" I asked. "Because I'm coming to get you. Me and you are gonna go out and we are have a good time."
Not long after Jocelyn had arrived with Nick and another one of our other friends, Kendall. I hadn't seen her in a while. I kinda missed her. "Hey Hayden! Long time no see." She greeted me. "Hey Ken, I missed you!" We both hugged as I hopped into the car and greeted Jocelyn and Nick. "Alright! So we are going out to a new club that opened not to long ago." Jocelyn said. "Sounds good!" I say as she starts driving. Hopefully I'll have some fun tonight.
We stepped into the club and was immediately hit by the loud music. There was excited flowing through the air, as well as the strong scent of alcohol. We all walked over to the bar and ordered some liquor. My fave. I decided to let lose a little and have some fun. Us three girls went over to the dance floor and danced together, while Nick watched and laughed at our horrible dancing skills. But I didn't care. I was actually enjoying myself. The night went on as we all had numerous amounts of shots. I guess I was good at holding my alcohol because I didn't feel that tipsy.
After about 2 hours of partying everyone decides it's time to go. "Hey, I'm gonna go find Ken, I'll be right back." Jocelyn said as she disappeared into the crowd to find Kendall. Nick didn't drink as much as the rest of us and was our designated driver for the night. We walk out to the car to wait for Jocelyn and Kendall. "Hey Hayden?" Nick called. "Yea, what's up?" I asked. "Well, it's um. It's Julian...he won't stop talking about you." Nick said with a look of sadness. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well since you left his drinking has gotten worse. Me and the guys can't even get him to leave the confines of his house. He keeps talking about how he misses you, and how he wants you back..." He said, searching my face for a response. "I don't know what you want me to do. He's the one that messed up, not me. He needs to just move on. I'm sorry but Julian is you're friend so he's you're problem..." I trail off, almost regretting what I said because of how harsh it sounded. Nick was about to be speak but went silent as Jocelyn and Kendall stumbled out of the bar. We all got in the car and Nick began to drive. The ride home was silent.
When Nick pulled up in front of my house I quickly said my goodbyes to them and got inside the security of my small apartment. All I wanted to do was go to bed. I wanted to forget about Julian but what Nick said just made everything one hundred percent worse. I slipped into some Pj's and went to bed.
My sleep was crudely interrupted by my alarm clock. I got out of bed and did my routine as always, and got ready for work.
I arrived on time and was greeted by Kurt. "Hey Hayden, you ready for tonight?" He asked. "Hey Kurt. And yea." I responded. "Is everything alright?" He asked. I guess he could tell something was wrong. "Huh? Um, yea everything's great." I tried to put on a smile, but couldn't. Without warning Kurt wrapped his arms around me, and gave me a comforting hug. "If you ever need anything, or someone to talk to, I'm right here Hayden. Okay?" He asked. "Okay." I said, holding back tears. I will admit, Kurt did make me feel a little bit better.
The work day came and went, I drove home to get ready for me, Kurt and Ryan's little hangout. I know we are just going out for drinks but I still wanted to look nice. I go into my closet and pull out a simple short black dress, and some black heels to match. I straighten my long dark hair and put on some light makeup. by the time I'm all ready I realize that I have to leave now or I'll be late.
I drive to the bar and arrive shortly. Meeting Ryan outside. "Hey Hayden, you look very nice tonight." He said with a smile. "So you do!" I said, and returned the smile. We both walk in and see Kurt already sitting at the bar. "Hey Ryan, Hey Hayden, you look very lovely." Kurt's face went red a little after that sentence escaped his lips. I chuckled. "Thank you Kurt! Let's order some beers." I say as I sit at a stool and ask the bartender for 3 beers.
We finish a few beers, while chatting and having a few laughs, when out of the corner of my eye I see Julian, clearly drunk walking towards us. "Shit." I mutter.
