"Have you heard about the execution of the new government teacher last night" Faye's voice broke me out of concentration. The ball slipped out from under me causing me to crash down onto my back.

I looked up to see her black hair waving in the wind. Her Curious brown eyes stairng down at me. She wore a blue flannel dress shirt and short shorts.

"Opps, did I make you fall Snow" she said with a bit of laughter. She walked over to the basketball and rolled it in my direction.

"No and yes" The ball rolled into my side as I stood up. She ran over and hugged me. Her head buried into my chest. She was about 5'3 and me being right at 6 foot kinda made it inevitable. To me it was cute, I always teased her about her shortness.

"They said he spoke out against the capital, but it seems a lot of people have been doing it lately-"

"And more have been getting executed" A voice jumped into the conversation. It was Paris, his parents named him after the old stories about the once city of love. He always hated the name, he didn't like the idea of being named after a myth.

Paris walked up and pushed me and Faye apart and picked up the basketball. His long blue hair and blue eyes always appeared from no where. He was a little bit shorter them me with a much smaller build, but he wasn't to be underestimated.

"What exactly was he saying Faye" I questioned.

"He was talking about how the capital is corrupt and that the military is out of control, you know, the usual things people say to get executed."

"Well without the military the outer nations would still be attacking us, and I heard roomers of the virus still out in the scared lands" Paris replied.

I grabbed Faye's hand and started walking to our class "Paris, are you skipping class again today"

"I can't, we have the special forces test thing today" He joined behind us dribbling the ball

"Oh yeah. We get tested again today don't we"

"Your both idiots" Faye laughed as she took of running down the side walk towards the battle gym.

"Snow can I tell you something" Paris reached out and grabbed my arm.

I stopped and turned around to face his. "Uh yeah man"

"You look like a creep running around with a girl who looks 13, and your 16"

"She is 17 damn you ass, she is 1 year older then us"

"Sure don't look that way"

"You do realise she is going to destroy us in this battle right"

"Yeah, her Haloi level is outrageous, I still can't believe she has the 3rd highest in our school"

We stopped and laughed for a little bit while we watched the hundreds of people pour into the gym. It started off with me and Paris, we grew up helping each other. Then Faye showed up when we where 12. We have been together since and nothing can brake our small groups bond.

We joined the crowed ready for the battle to come. We all had are hearts set to pass the test and travel around the world. Faye more then anyone. She was the reason why we where here. She is the only reason why we are here. She saved us, and to that we owe her our lives.
