On the Run

Part Seven

Charity finally woke up, and she came in with a can of peaches.
"Good morning!" She said, getting a hug from Ben and Chara.
"Charity, this is Benjamin and Charlie, but call them Ben and Chara." She nodded and finished her peaches. Charity and I decided to try to do some acrobatics so we climbed up the tall ladder and got on those swinging things. We swung to each other but when she tried to grab my legs with her legs she fell and almost hit the ground. She closed eyes and when she opened them Ben caught her.
"How did yo--" she was cut off
"My powers make me super strong and also really fast."
"What can chara do?" I jumped down and put me in a protection ball.
"We only know she can break things by  screaming, but the only thing she can break right now is glass." Chara nodded and tried to shriek but I covered her mouth and shook my head no. She giggled and ran toward a ball. Charity laughed and saw an object on chara's head.
"Ben, what's that?" Charity seemed concerned
"What's what? The thing chara has? A ball." He laughed
"No, the thing on her head." I went over to her and looked at it.
"There's nothing but hair and her face on her head." He looks at us confused
"There's a glowing thing of some sort on her head." Charity comes to look at it and Ben comes to see if he can see it
"I don't see it." He shrugged and walked away
"Well we do and I think it might be a chip, did you two ever get caught by police?" I examine it, careful not to trigger something.
"Once, they knocked her out to get her to stop screaming. I put up a fight and ended up scaring them off"
I nod and charity touches it
"Charity stop messing with it you might trigger something. Anyway, it's possible when she got knocked out one of the many chips in the police weapons, armor, themselves, and transportation got into her. What did they hit her with?"
"A taser." I start to understand and I found car wires to shock car batteries. I attached one to the chip and one to the an electrical source. It shocks her and she passes out but she's still breathing. The chip pops off and shatters making the light go out. She wakes up within the hour and is perfectly normal except for one thing, she can no longer talk. She can only make noises, Ben started to get worried.
"Why isn't she talking? She usually said good morning when she wakes up."
" the chip triggered something, unless it burned a hole through that part of the brain it's temporary. She'll be able to talk in 1 to 2 weeks.
He nods and we pack up everything and begin to venture off for new homes.
