After calling around for about an hour and faxing things to all the other packs around I walked up stairs to the twins, who were playing around with amy
“hey amy can you help pam with dinner so I can talk to the kids?” she stood up nodding
“ok mom” she took off down the hall as I sat on the ground with them in my lap
“mommy has a story for you” I got comfortable with them and started telling them mostly everything about my life leaving out about my parents. When I was done I just sat there waiting for there reactions when gabe’s face started turning red
“him hurt my mommy?” I sighed and rubbed his head
“yes baby, but mommy’s ok now because I have you and sissy‘s” gabby looked sad
“why him do that?” I smiled sadly at her
“I don’t know baby, I wish I knew” gabe started getting really mad
“him is gunna die” and before I could stop him he ran off with me following closely behind yelling for people to stop him. I ran outside where I heard yelling
“put me down” I got out there just in time to see andy holding gabe upside down by his leg
“no can do little squirt” I sighed and walked over to them pulling gabe into my arms
“you need to calm down baby” he glared at luke over my shoulder
“I have to do it mommy” I sat him down then bent down so I was level with him
“why do you think you have to do this?” he sighed and ran his fingers through his short hair just like luke does when he’s frustrated
“because im the man and I have to protect mommy and sissy’s” I smiled and pulled him into a hug
“baby you cant protect us from everything and it happened before you were born so you need to relax” he sighed and sat on the ground Indian style doing his breathing exercises
“so im gunna go ahead and guess you told them?” I sighed and looked at andy
“now what would give you that idea?” he narrowed his eyes at me
“no need to get mouthy” I smiled and hugged him
“im sorry andy I just really didn’t expect him to get pissed like that” he nodded then picked up gabe walking inside as I turned around to luke
“what exactly happened here?” I sighed and sat on one of the lawn chairs
“I told the kids everything and gabe got pissed off at you” he glared at me
“but there only 4” I glared right back at him
“actually there only 3 ½ but that doesn’t matter. They had a right to know and decide if they want you in their life” he growled
“they don’t have a choice, im their father and im going to be in their life” I growled right back and started walking towards him which had him stumbling backwards
“you do not growl at me and if my kids don’t want you then your not going to be there because im not going to force this on them” by the time my tirade was done he was pinned to a tree with my finger jabbed into his chest and I was so close to shifting. Luke put his hands up in surrender
“relax eva, you really need to calm down” I glared at him even more
“don’t tell me what the fuck to do” instantly he bent down and captured my lips with his and no matter how bad I wanted to kiss him back I refused to and it was starting to piss him off as he growled. I pushed him back glaring
“what the hell was that?” he looked at me shocked
“how could you not kiss back?” I growled at him
“because as I said 4 years ago, im through with you” I turned around and stalked away with a growling luke following but he stopped when we got in the house because gabe was glaring at him while he was hugging gabby who was crying her eyes out. I ran to her and pulled her into a hug
“what happened baby?” she sniffled but couldn’t talk so gabe did
“her crying because ryan said her daddy is a bad man” I growled which had the whole house shaking
“RYAN STERLING, IN THE KITCHEN NOW” within seconds he was standing at the door looking at his feet
“yes alpha?” I glared at him
“don’t you ‘yes alpha’ me, why the hell would you tell my daughter that her dad is a bad man” ryan looked up but still couldn’t make eye contact
“im sorry alpha but someone needed to tell her the truth” I growled even louder
“then let it be me or her father not you, this is your last warning if you purposely make my children or any child cry again you will be out on your ass, do I make myself clear” he slightly jumped at my tone of voice before nodding his head
“yes alpha, I swear” then he took off running as I cradled gabby in my lap
“listen to me baby, your daddy isn’t a bad man. He made mistakes but everybody does that at least once in their lives so don’t listen to them, ok?” she nodded her head and went off smiling with gabe following. I turned to luke who was smiling
“so you stuck up for me?” I nodded my head
“it’s the truth, everybody makes mistakes” he had a hesitant look to him then he sighed
“then what was your mistake?” I walked up to him and placed my hand on his cheek
“giving you a chance and falling in love with you” with that I walked out of the kitchen and headed off to work.
