"You don't have to do this you know..." I muttered as Austin helped us out of his very expensive sports car.
"I know I don't have to, but I want to. Plus I have tons of room to spare" he smiled and closed the door behind me. The keys to the house swung around his slender finger as we walked up the cement stairs and to the white front door. Austin opened the door and the breath was knocked out of my chest. The carpet and walls were so white that it made Jason and I look a few shades darker.
"Oh my god..." I gasped and looked around at the perfectly cleaned house. "How do you..."
"Good morning Austin" a woman spoke with a smile, taking Austin's coat from his shoulders and hanging it in a closet. "Would you like us to make coffee and breakfast?" She asked with a smile.
"If you would, please and make some extra, we have company." He put a hand on the small of my back and pulled me forwards, making me blush. "And could you ask Linda to start a bath for the little one?"
The lady nodded and hurried off around the corner before Austin told us to take off our shoes.
"Austin, the coffee is ready, and I got apple juice for the little one." She gave Jason a white smile before leading us into a giant kitchen. "Coffee for the sirs" She gave both Austin and I a warm cup before handing Jason a sippy cup.
"Juice" He giggled and started sipping at the drink while Austin led us to the table.
"Why do you just have sippy cups sitting around?" I asked with a small smile as we sat down at a very expensive looking wooden table.
"You got me" he sighed and leaned back in his chair. "I had a husband at one time and we both wanted a family. So we tried and on the fourth time we got the news that he was pregnant." Austin grinned with a dazed look in his eyes. "He was seven months, and we had everything worked out. We had a room for her, we had cups and toys... But one night I woke up to my husband crying and I didn't know what was happening so I called the hospital and he had a miscarriage" Austin was staring hard at the table, his fingers crossing and uncrossing again.
"I am so sorry Austin.." I whispered and tentatively put my hand over his clenching ones. "What happened to him...?"
"He decided he couldn't be around me anymore... So he left" Austin's voice seemed to be tightening as if he were going to cry, the look on his face suggested it too. "And now I work for hours and hours try to forget him and our kid but I can't. That's why I had to take you guys in, I don't want you to lose Jason like I lost Violet." (A/n: Sorry for my lack of creativity... I'm watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... I like the name Violet but I want to punch the character in the face... Anyways I'm sorry for this long A/n. Carry on)
"I can't thank you enough for taking us in, buying us lunch and everything else" I gave him a small smile, my hand still on top of his folded ones. "And if you ever need anything... then let me know"
He nodded and flipped his hand so his palm was up before enclosing my small hand in his large one.
"Austin?" A different woman than the one that had gotten us coffee poked her head in the room. "The bath is ready." Austin nodded and dismissed her.
"I assumed you wanted to give him a bath yourself."
I nodded and picked up Jason before following Austin down the hall that was just as fancy as the rest of the house. At one point down the hall we stood on a huge balcony that overlooked the living room on one side and the kitchen on the other. Straight above was a colored glass window, covering us in red, blue, green and purple light.
"Austin... This is beautiful." I gasped "How do you even afford this..?"
"Thank you, I designed it. And I told you, I work for hours and hours on end." He shrugged before turning and walking through a doorway.
