** Addison Whitley **

I looked up and saw myself looking straight into the second pair of green eyes I'd seen today, though these were boring into me like gimlets. With a sickening feeling in my stomach, I realized I was looking at Principal Herald.

He gave Courtney one glance and she vanished so fast, it looked like she'd Apparated.

Haters gonna hate, but POTTERHEAD FOREVER!!!!!!!

But back to point.

He sat down. "How is your mother coping?"

I jerked visibly. How could he have known? "Ho- wha....?" Why did I sound like a troll again?

He noticed my lost expression, and answered my semi-asked question. "I...know all about the business."

"It's not a business," I snarled. I don't know where that anger came from, but this guy was pushing all the wrong buttons.

"I understand this may still be a delicate subject to broach."

"It most certainly is." My voice was barely steady

"Then I shall leave it alone. However, I would want to talk about my son."

"What about him?"

"I rather hoped, with your excellent track record, that you would not succumb to his charms, but I was obviously mistaken."

Succumb to his charms? He thinks I'm dating Felix? Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Bleh.

"You were not mistaken."

"I wasn't?"

"No."

He smiled at me, making his face look halfway pleasant. I scowled back.

"Then I suppose this visit has gone useless. Good day, Ms. Whitley." He rose and was gone.

I hate both father and son so much, that if I weren't a self-contained little angel, I'd have ripped their heads off.

Please don't arrest me.

Courtney was leaving for a week. I dunno why any sane human would go on a holiday a day after summer vacation, but I guess her family's like that.

I said goodbye and, with a heavy heart, walked home. I was not in the mood for bad memories, and home was full of them.

Just then, a sound of just about a billion decibels tore my eardrums to pieces. Only one person in my knowledge was obnoxious enough to make that sound. I sighed as he stopped next to me.

"Got anywhere to be, sweetums?" Felix asked. I turned, and my retort stuck in my through. He was on a motorcycle. It was a suh-weet ride. A Kawasaki, most likely a Ninja.

I recovered, though. "Anywhere you're not. But I'd have to leave town, seeing as your ego occupies half of it."

"You're hilarious."

"Why, thank you."

"I need an answer."

I'd already made my decision, surprisingly. As much as I hated Felix and his guts, Courtney mattered more to me. And she was sad. "I'll help you."

"Why thank you," he mimicked me.

Okay, that was it. I had to get back at him. Murder was illegal, but some payback couldn't harm anyone. Especially since the payback I'm planning might be tiny bit left of law. It was a good thing I loved bikes.....

"Hey, nice bike. Can I go for a spin?" I asked, hoping I wasn't laying it on too thick.

That probably blew up his enormous ego.

"Yeah, sure." He got up to grab me a helmet.

I put it on, and, before he could do anything, hopped on the bike and drove away.

In the rearview, I could see Felix, looking as though and brick fell on his head.

Revenge is sweet.
