Can hearts beat when they are filled with
plastic year after year to mask the insecurities
with a 'flawless' appearance? Does foreign matter
destroy the pulse?
Do tears fall more often when unblinking
eyes hold them back from the brink of
overflowing? Careful don't smudge the
makeup.
Can legs carved from stone carry light-weight
bodies across the dangerous border
lying between reality and fiction? Don't
trip.
Do you think Mrs Potato Head enjoys
being utterly perfect? Changing herself
when others tell her to until she is
just right.
Well perfections all that matters anyway...
right?
A/N: This poem much like "Please..." is based on a prompt that DannyCepul and I both worked with. The prompt for this piece was 'potato' which as silly a theme as it is was quite inspiring and enjoyable to work with.
Please check out Danny's poety book 'It', it's absolutely gorgeous and he is one of my favourite poets on this site. Danny is an amazing person as well, he is so kind and is always up for a chat. Please send some love his way because he deserves all of it xo
