Over one million people die by suicide worldwide and there are many more who attempt suicide.
The global suicide rate is 16 per 100,000 population.
On average, one person dies by suicide every 40 seconds somewhere in the world and Global suicide rates have increased 60% in the past 45 years.All this is occurring in a silent world where peace is said to be the common thread to a happy world but are we really doing enough? Are we truly showing the living that we love them or are we waiting to buy them flowers to lay on their grave?
They say regret is stronger than gratitude but we should no longer stand quiet at a time when so much can be done.
The second competition in memory and love of those who are still fighting the struggle of life will be hosted by @no_suicide.
"Save A Life" is a campaign that aims to stop suicide with the help of your stories. "
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is continue living even when we want to die. So thus the prompt for this writing challenge is 'Life After Suicide'
Your character has to have attempted suicide and survived and the story should highlight the battle of living with suicide thoughts whilst still be motivating and inspirational. The story can be any genre but must be tagged with #SaveALife and #TheSafeZone so we can find it. You can also PM me a link to your entry.
The minimum words for your entry must be 800 with a maximum of 4000. All participants will be added to the campaign's public reading list because we know it's not easy to write a story.
Prizes are:
First place: Any book of your choice will be picked as book of the week. Shout out on the campaign's Twitter and Facebook accounts. Sticker from the founder of the campaign to the winning book.
