CH. 17

Some development for Nova time

Nova POV

I was walking around the city or what's left of it, people who were made homeless walking around scavenging for food, fortunately for me, the place me and Lisa were at was on the other side of the city from all of this. I then noticed something in some of the rubble and I picked up a small stuffed teddy bear 

"Mommy, it's my bear" I heard a voice say and a small boy was pointing towards me and he started to run towards me. Once he got to me I handed him the small animal and he said 

"Thank you miss" and I rubbed his head 

"Nathan, you found your bear?" I'm assuming his mother asked him 

"No, this nice lady found it for me" the boy said pointing to me 

"Oh thank you, come on, let;s go" the mother said and pulled her kid away. I felt my self looking at them wondering if I could ever be like that, I was shaken out of my thoughts by what looked like a fight happening at the academy 

"What's that?" I said looking. I was fairly close so I could see a demon and (Y/n) fighting. (Y/n) had the black marks on his body and two swords then appeared in his hands. They went out of view but shortly after I could feel the energy leave and calm down. I let out a sigh and thought to myself 'It seems that he doesn't need much of our help anymore' and I started to walk around. I started to walk towards somewhere that's nearby that only I really know about. Once I was fairly outside the city I had to transform to get there quickly (looks like picture above). I was flying towards a mountain that I used to relieve myself when I'm stressed, it was a volcano. I landed on the edge and went back to human form 

"Looks like nothing has changed" I said looking down into the red hot magma that bubbled  up from under the surface of Remnant. I quickly skidded down the surface and made it down to a small pool. I removed my clothes and slipped into the pool letting the heat and warmth envelope my senses. I looked up to the sky and through the smoke and thought to my self 'I wonder if I'll ever be as powerful as (Y/n)' and I remembered some of the amazing things he's pulled off.

The time he managed to eat demon's energy

When he won the one-on-one match for the tournament

When he had to fight another dragon

and most recently, his fights against those demon's

'I wonder if there will ever be a point when he just doesn't need us anymore' I thought while half of my face sank beneath the lava. I felt myself falling asleep when I heard something moving around. I cracked open my left eye and jumped out of the way just in time to avoid getting hit by a large green metal hook. It hit the ground next to me and I somehow managed to grab my clothes before I got to far away. I quickly put them on and went out to look for who ever threw that hook at me 

"Who's there?" I asked out loud 

"That would be me" a man said and he was wearing a brown tattered trench coat, white undershirt,brown pants, cowboy boots, a red bandanna hiding his face, and a cowboy hat with a feather on it. 

"Who are you?" I asked him and he pulled out another matching hook and he started to spin them both around his hands 

"Names Raxus, I was sent here to kill you" and he threw one of the hooks to the left. I moved to avoid it but the other came out and wrapped around my neck and he pulled me around and used me to smash a few boulders. I got the hook off and pulled it yanking him towards me. He started to fly at me but used his feet and kicked me in the face knocking me back 

"It'd be better if you don't resist, you'll only die tired" he said getting both of the hooks ready again 

"Like hell I would" I said and he nodded 

"So be it" and I threw a fire ball at him but he cut it in half 

"What?" I said and he came at me and kneed me in the stomach. Hard. I fell to the ground and coughed up some blood 

"I always thought dragons would be more of a challenge" he said wrapping one of the hooks around my neck. He tied it in a way so I could barely breath, I tried to melt it but no matter how high I turned up the heat, they didn't budge of move at all 

"Don't even try" he said standing over me 

"There made out of a special metal that doesn't melt" he said and was about to try and gut me with the other hook but the ground gave out underneath us. I fell into the actual volcano while he got out of the way. Once I was all the way inside I started to float down while thinking 'Just who is this guy? Is this how I do out?' and I suddenly felt this new surge of energy. I felt all the bruises heal and any other wounds get healed and I could see my reflection in some of the lava. My hair was turning black and my eyes were now crimson red. The normal yellow streaks in my hair were now red and I then thought 'Is this what (Y/n) felt when he first got his new forms?' and I stopped changing and saw that my clothes also weren't melting 'Awesome' and I started to swim towards the surface.

3rd POV

Raxus was sitting on the edge of the lava sharpening his weapons and he said to himself 

"I was hoping that would be more of a challenge" and he got up and turned around to leave 

"Better go collect my payment then" 

"Not just yet" and he turned around and saw Nova kneeling out of the lave, with some dripping of of her skin and she was breathing heavily 

"You bet your ass I won't go down that easy" and she looked at him with a glint in her new red eyes 

"It will still end the same" he said taking out his hooks. He swung them like last time but Nova caught both of them and yanked him towards her even faster than before. Before Raxus could react Nova head butted him down to the ground. The new red streaks in Nova's hair had now grown larger and were flowing down her hair like the lava around them and she said 

"Who sent you?" and Raxus chuckled 

"You still haven't won yet pretty girl" he said and his bandanna fell of showing his wide toothy grin, knowing he struck a nerve. Nova then started to twitch and she said 

"I'm going to kill you" and the lava started to erupt around them and she came at him, with her hands both made of lava and she slashed his body. Raxus cried out in pain as the blistering hot rock melted his clothes and flesh 

"Ahhhhhhh, you bitch" he said swinging the hooks again and again at Nova. She dodged every hit, that he tried to get on her to the point the ground was splitting apart again and Nova said 

"Surrender now, and I'll bring you to safety" and he laughed like an insane person and said 

"No, were both going to die here" and the ground gave out under neath the pair. Nova jumped away and landed on a ledge and watch as Raxus plummeted to his death and she saw him go under the molten rock and something landed next to her, it was his hat. She picked it up and looked and saw a picture on the inside, it was her, (Y/n), Lisa, and Rabbit all with circles around their faces and written in marker was 

"Must kill". She shook at the picture and burned the photo and left the hat on the ledge and left the volcano.

Time skip

Nova POV

I was walking down the street I was earlier when i saw Lisa and Rabbit 

"Hey guys" I said walking towards them 

"Nova? Is that you?" Lisa said 

"Yeah" I said waving to them 

"Why's your hair different?" Rabbit said looking at my hair 

"Don't know" I said running my hand through it 

"By the way I-" and I felt myself lose consciousness, and my vision fade to black.
