Hospitalized

My eyes were blinded as soon as I opened my eyes. The curtains were open wide, and there sat asleep, Darien.
The tv was on, and the nurse walked into the room with breakfast.
She smiles at me, and greets me; I try to speak but I simply couldn't because my throat was dry. I started coughing, and the nurse gave me some water. I thanked her for the water; and  I looked down at my body, noticing the cast on my foot. Also bandages around my thighs, head, and hands. The nurse asked me if I were ready to make my statement to the police. I nodded a yes, and she walks out, letting them inside.

"Good Morning, Mrs. James was here for your statement, just tell us what happened."
I look at my hands, and Darien wakes up. He walks to me, "Are you okay; I am so sorry I wasn't there to protect you" he says. His eyes were red and puffy, I grab his hand and squeeze it.
"I went home, after being at Darien's house, and got inside, I had a funny feeling like someone was watching me.
So I grabbed a bat and looked around, and I saw Matt standing there. I asked him why he was here, and he said "taking back whats mine" and pushed me into the wall and drugged me. Next thing  I know  I'm  in this bedroom, I tried to escape multiple times, I've
Been beaten, raped,  and after all that I finally got a chance to escape. He was asleep and woke up to the alarm going off, and then that's when he started to chase me. He caught up to me in no time and jumped on me. Before I escaped I grabbed a knife, so when he tackled me, I stabbed him in the shoulder twice. I then got up to run, and he fired a gun at my thigh. I had to bear through the pain, and I got his phone and called the cops. Then I passed  out." I explain in full detail.
The cops write it all down," we already tested you for rape, and we saw that he indeed did; did he use a Condom Ma'am?"
"No," I say tearing up, Darien squeezes my hand and hugs me slightly so he does hurt me.
" the court date is 2 weeks from now, will you press  charges against  him?" The cop asks. I nod, the thank me from my time and leave.

Darien worriedly stares at me, he wipes my tears away and holds me close as I cry into his chest.
