Let me just say this.
She revels in being the first love.
She revels in being his first love.
Sure, they were just two thirteen years old, what do they know about love? And how complex and deep it is? Is she (is he) certain that what they had was love and not just puppy love?
Yes, she is certain. They, or rather, he owned up to it. He made sure his actions measured those three precious words he uttered. Even if they were just thirteen, an age where people say you're too young to know anything, he made sure she knows that he loves her.
He was just a thirteen year old boy. Just a boy when he bought her that cheap chocolate. He was just a boy who she told her secrets to. He was just a boy when he bought her an inexpensive Refresh drink. He was just a boy when he bought her a bracelet.
But he was never just that. He was someone who bought a chocolate for her, the new girl in school, he made her feel special and included in the group. Because of that, the new girl witness kindness that does not ask for anything in return. He was someone who would climb up and down multiple flights of stairs just to buy someone, who does not want to eat during lunch break, a Refresh drink because he simply cares for her well-being. It does not matter if he was uncertain if this girl would accept the drink, but he still bought it for her. He was not asking for anything in return, just that she would eat or drink something. He was someone she was comfortable sharing her life secrets with. He was the first guy she told about this certain secret. And she would never forget when he got teary-eyed because of sadness for her.
He was just a boy when he bought her a silver bracelet for her birthday. Do you get that? He was just fourteen when he bought jewelry for some girl. He must have saved up months and months worth of allowance just to buy that bracelet. Just to see that bracelet on her hand. Only to see her again, without the bracelet. And without the spark and doubt and nervousness and excitement in her eyes.
He was just a boy when he told her that he can't afford to lose her, that he is so damn scared of losing her again.
She did not deserve him. Yes, I agree with you.
All she did was take and take and take from him. However, she did not do that on purpose. She is not this proud bitch who just wants to revel in being the first love. She was just a thirteen year old girl, who was experiencing how it felt like to be loved for the first time. He made her feel special, the most amazing girl in the world.
Yes, she loved him. She loved him in her little ways. She would write and write words and praises of him. She was lost in her own little word. She would go crazy about him but he does not know that. The sad part was, she forgot or did not know that expressing love was a two-way street. She was contented with writing about him, the dream guy, but he was busy expressing his love for her. So when that dreaded time came, all they saw was the selfish girl who came to love someone else. She regretted it in the end. She regretted choosing someone else. She was lonely and the other guy was there, when her dream guy was miles and miles away. She regrets it everyday. He was the one who got away.
Even if he is in love with someone else now, she would treasure the memory that once she was someone's first love. She was his first love.
