Chapter Twenty

I awoke to see nothing but darkness, the kind that creeps up on you and makes your heart beat harder and faster. I didn’t know where I was or why I was here, I had so many questions running though my head so fast that I felt like I was going blind.

I tried pulling away from the chair that was holding me but the chains that wrapped across my chest and along my arms and legs started burning and cutting with any small movement. I looked behind my back at my hands and saw the only thing that weakened a wolf, silver. My wolf growled, hissed and snarled at the metal pulling trying to get away while I sat and took deep breaths trying to calm her.

I felt light headed and my throat felt dry, I kept getting these weird sensations of people watching me, almost studying me. I tried reaching to Max though our mind link but something was wrong, it was like I could feel a connection. I felt movement behind me and I rattled my chain growling at the intruder.

Cold hands brushed my arms lifting my hair while they walked around me. I felt so small and vulnerable like a human child, not a soon-to-be-Luna werewolf of one of the strongest packs in the world. Taking steady breaths I felt the kidnapper play with the ends on my hair. I closed my eyes and pictured Max’s face, it gave me the strength to speak.

“Who are you and why have you brought me here?” I couldn’t hear any fear in my voice and I was grateful, I didn’t want this person to know I felt weak,

“Who I am isn’t very important right now.” I was surprised to hear the voice of a women and I couldn’t understand why it sounded so familiar. “The only thing you need to know is that I am very, very dangerous.” With her last words she brought her nails across my right check making me scream out it pain. From the corner of my eye I saw another person started to move towards me from the shadows but the monstrous lady behind me raised her hand and they stepped back before I could see their face.

“What do you want with me?” I couldn’t help but cry out as she sliced her nails across my other cheek. She moved from the back of my prisonlike chair and came to stand in front on me. She was wearing a floor length black coat that had a hood covering most of her face and a shadow covering the rest. I could see long blond hair fall out of the coat and tried to remember if I had seen that before.

“What I want is for you to leave. I will give you two hours to go home and collect your belongings, you are not to speak to anyone or tell anyone. Once you are outside the territory of the pack you will become a rogue. I do not care where you go after that, we will not harm you.”

I laughed in the face of this mad lady,

“And what makes you think I will ever do any of this?” The lady lifted her head just enough so I could she her smirk, I knew her I just didn’t know how.

“You must understand Autumn, I have people on the inside and the outside of your precious pack. I will know if you have seen or spoken to anyone, and if you have I do have the power to kill everyone in your pack, including your family and the Alpha. Okay Autumn?...”

The way she said my name made my mind flash, for a quick second I saw a small girl almost identical to what I used to look like as a kid, she was talking to me and I could feel myself laughing at what she was saying. Suddenly her eyes got big and she fall to the ground, “Summer, Summer!” I could feel myself yelling and I stretched out my hand trying to reach and help her but I felt arms pulling me back, I saw the little girl start to shake and I could feel people start to run. With one last look at me she mouthed the words “Don’t forget me” before she got up and ran to the woods. I felt myself start following her and people scream her and my name but I had to get to this girl. I don’t know how but it felt important. I ran till we both got to the edge of a cliff and with that she jumped. I ran to the edge and cried out her name. But she was gone.

I woke up gasping for air I didn’t know what I had just seen but it was defiantly a very strange dream I rolled so I was sitting on the side of my bed, my feet hitting the cool carpet. I placed my hand on my face and tried to rub away the strange feeling of death. At least it had to be a dream otherwise how did I get home? Turning to my lamp I switched it on and was surprised to see a note lying there with my name neatly written on the top.

Opening the letter I gasped and dropped it to the floor with shaking hands. I looked down and read it slowly again making sure it said what I thought it did. I had been right the first time, picking up the letter I felt a tear run down my cheek for what was about to happened. In black ink written on a white piece of paper were the four words,

Two hours or death.

Okay so I know this update took FOREVER! and this chapter is really short... I am sorry I have just been really busy with work :(
