The phone suddenly rings, interrupting my musings. I leap up from my bed and pick up the phone. "Hello?"
"Hi. Is this Sunset Shi- I mean, Sunny?"
"Um... yeah, it is. And who is this?"
"Hello. My name is Twilight, and I work for the DNR."
"Why is the Department of Natural Resources calling me?"
"You have been selected as the winner of our Young People competition, and you have won a tour of our headquarters, in an old, nondescript warehouse many miles away from where you live!!!"
This is basically the most suspicious phone call I have ever received. Ever. In my entire life. "When is this tour?"
"Today! You will arrive back at home in five days. Tell your parents! You don't need to pack anything! Just come outside and we will bring you to the top-secret headquarters!"
"MOM!!" I yell down the stairs, holding the phone away from my head. "APPARENTLY I HAVE BEEN INVITED TO TOUR THE DNR HEADQUARTERS!! FOR FIVE WHOLE DAYS!!!"
"THAT'S NICE, DEAR!!! HAVE FUN! I WILL BE ON IMPORTANT BUSINESS CALLS THE ENTIRE TIME!"
So that's how I end up in a nondescript car driven by a guy in sunglasses, on my way to an unspecified location.
