Chapter Three
The next morning I'm abruptly woken up by Calla and Kezia dragged me kicking and screaming out of my bed.
And when I say that, I mean literally. I did not want to leave that warm, cosy bed, which just so happened to have my favourite god in the world in it. Shirtless.
Not exactly how I wanted to start the day of my wedding, but I can't really complain, right?
Oh wait. Yes I can.
"Why did you do that?" I whine when they finally let me go, dropping me unceremoniously down on the floor of my bathroom.
"It's your wedding day." Is Kezia's simple reply as she leans on the door to shut it.
"Astute observation." I retort sarcastically. "It's also the day that I very well may actually end up strangling you both."
"Hey now." Kezia points her finger accusingly at me. "You promised; no deaths on your wedding day."
"Besides which," Calla hastily cuts in when she notices the scowl on my face. "Neither you or Hades are supposed to see each other before your wedding."
"Says who?"
Kezia gives me a dead look. "Tradition."
"Yeah, well, I'm sure tradition would also be okay with me happily waking up next to my fiancee and happily leaving once I've woken up. Happily." I emphasize. "I didn't even get to say good morning; or goodbye, for that matter!"
"I'm pretty sure that strangled yelp noise you made when we dragged you out of your bed was as good a goodbye as any." Kezia grins wickedly, and I scowl furiously at her. "Don't give me that look E, you signed yourself up for this when you made us your bridesmaids."
"I didn't sign up for this violence." I grumble, reluctantly pushing myself up to sit cross-legged on the cool tiles. "Is it too late to fire you both?"
Calla pouts overdramatically at me. "You wouldn't want to tear away the dream of being a bridesmaid from two poor dead girls, would you?"
"My sympathy for you two plummeted dramatically when you dragged me out of my bed." I remark dryly.
"Oh, stop whining, you big baby." Kezia cuffs me around the head. "Now get up, we're supposed to get you all primmed and prepped for your big debut down the mother of all catwalks. Or should I say, Cal is gonna get you ready and I'm just going to sit and laugh at you."
Something dawns on me, and a small grin worms it's way onto my lips. I taunt them in a sing-song voice. "You guys haven't thought this through."
"Why's that?" Calla eyes me suspiciously.
"How exactly do you suppose you're gonna get me to the top all 'primmed and prepped' without Hades seeing me?" I raise my eyebrows at them cockily.
They both pause, looking at each other. "Well...'
"Ha! I win!" I cry triumphantly. "I do get to see Hades-"
"We're just messing with you." Kezia grins, and my face falls. "Spencer's coming down shortly to take us up to the house Selene and Axel are staying at."
"But it's kind of cute that you're still so eager to see him." Calla teases.
"Sickeningly cute." Kezia adds.
The grin tumbles off my face. "That was mean."
"I've been called much worse." Kezia shrugs as she peeks out the door. "Ok he's gone, let's move."
