"Just rest," my mom soothes, my hands keeping my baby girl close to me.

"I need her. I have to stay awake," I say, her head shaking.

"Claire, you need the rest. She has to go to her check-up. It's okay," she says, my arms unwillingly giving up my baby to the nurse.

"Sleep, honey. It's okay," both my mom and the nurse sooth, my eyes closing. It's not long before I drift off into sleep.

I hear people talking loudly outside of the room and I feel sleepy, but I wake up. My body moves and I stand up, looking around.

"Mom?" I ask, walking out of the room. But my heart stops when I see my Harry standing in front of me.

"Claire," he says, rushing to me. I jump onto him and he wraps his arms around me, hugging me tightly. My eyes squeeze shut and I start to cry, hugging Harry tightly.

"Oh, beautiful. I've missed you so much," he says, my head lifting. I start kissing his face and he smiles, my hands grabbing his cheeks and kissing him.

"I love you," I tell him, his arms staying wrapping around me.

"I love you too, baby," he smiles, my heart racing.

"Now, speaking of baby," he says, setting me down.

"Y-You know?" I ask, his head nodding.

"Your mom...she hired an investigator to find me. She called me this morning and I got on the first plane here," he says, my heart melting.

"Do you want to see her?" I ask, his lips in a smile.

"It's a girl?" he grins, my head nodding. He smiles, pulling me back into him and kissing me.

"Let's go," he grins, my feet guiding him down the hall. He has his arms wrapped around me and I hold his hand, loving the feeling of having him back. We get to the babies and I knock on the door, the nurses looking at me.

"Can I have him see my baby?" I ask, all of them smiling. One helps me find her and I smile down at my little girl, Harry moving towards her.

"Look at those curls," he grins, my lips curving at him. He moves his hand to hers and she lightly grabs his finger, my heart melting.

"Oh my God, she's beautiful," he says, my lips curving.

"Can I hold her?" Harry asks, the nurse telling him he can. He carefully moves her into his arms and I'm in awe at the size difference. Harry's gained more muscle in our time apart, his arms huge in comparison to the little baby.

"Did you name her yet?" he asks, my head shaking. Harry smiles and I walk over to him, kissing his cheek.

"I was hoping to talk about it with you," I explain. "Even if I had to wait until she's two."

He turns his head and kisses me, my eyes closing at the feeling. "I'm here now, and I will never leave either of you."

I smile and lean my head on his shoulder, the little girl reaching towards him. He kisses her fingers and I let him go, his arms moving her back into the little cradle. He grabs my hand and we walk back into my room, his body sitting on the bed beside me.

"You want to talk about names?" he asks, my head nodding.

"I honestly haven't really thought of any," I explain, his hand grabbing mine.

"I've thought about these things before. You want to hear the names I like?" he asks, my head nodding. I shift closer to him and he kisses my cheek.

"I like Ava, Charlotte, and Jane. Those are my favorite girl names," he tells me, my lips curving.

"I love Charlotte," I grin, his green eyes gleaming as he looks into my own.

"Middle name?" he asks, my shoulders shrugging.

"Charlotte...Therese?" I ask, his lips curving.

"I'm in love," he grins, wrapping his arms around me and kissing me. It's like this the rest of the day, but when Charlotte is in the room, he's holding her and kissing her. I've never seen a more beautiful sight.

I watch as he lifts her onto his torso, his hands covering her entire body. Charlotte is silent on him, content with her father. He looks so happy and so proud, my heart pounding. I knew Harry would be someone so important to me, my attitude around him making me a better person. For that I owe him everything.

I turn in bed, my bare body shielded by the sheets. A smile passes my lips when I see a note on the pillow, my fingers grabbing it.

Went to pick up the little one. Might want to put some clothes on before we get home. ;)

The smile is bright on my face and I recall every moment of last night. Since Charlotte was born, he's kept his promise. He's stayed with me here in New York, retiring from surfing to be with us. But as Charlotte has gotten older, I got a job at a restaurant and Harry is a stay at home dad. I've taken a few classes in the culinary field and I had two big eaters to help me judge my cooking.

I get up and put new underwear on, pulling shorts and a tee on as well. My feet pad the hardwood floor and I walk into the kitchen, tying my hair into a bun on the top of my head. I start making an omelet and I hear the door open. Harry walks in, cradling a slumped Charlotte on his torso. Her chubby cheeks are pressing against his shoulder, giving her an even more prominent chubby look. Her brown curls are pulled onto the top of her head and I smile, so in love with the little girl.

"Little chub," I grin, poking her lower lip.

"Your mom said she crashed at seven and she's still asleep," Harry smiles, my hands moving to hold her. I love the feeling of my own baby wrapped around me. It's like I hold my life in my hands.

Charlotte stirs and I kiss her hair, her arms wrapping around my shoulders and her legs around my body. Her hand holds my neck and I hold her close, loving my little girl.

"Claire Bear, you wanna make me an omelet?" Harry asks, my eyes looking up at him.

"You can take that one. I'll make another one later," I say, his eyes watching the trance little Charlotte puts me in. I never wanted kids, but now that I have one, I can't believe I ever thought that way. She's a life changer, but the greatest one at that.

We sit at the table together though, and Charlotte starts to wake up when Harry is nearly finished with the omelet.

"Mommy," she whispers in my ear, my head turning to look at her.

"What's up, babe?" I ask, her green eyes gleaming up at me.

"I'm hungry," she says, my lips curving. I kiss her cheek and hand her to Harry, immediately tickling her to get her to laugh.

"What would you like to eat?" I ask, her distraction with Harry making me smile.

"Scrambled eggs," she giggles, Harry looking over and smiling at me. But looking at Harry right now makes me feel like the only girl in the world, making me so thankful I have this life with him by my side.
