Vakerian Guard: Governers palace

"We can't attack the capital without the other companies and the spacemarines will be good assets they are about a few hours out until then get the artillery set up and their target areas and i want the death strike missile loaded with a plasma head!" Said Fadro leaning back on his chair with his feet on the table.

"Sir the death strike will kill our forces in the city" said shot master Marrimek

"I didn't say are forces would be in the city did i" The Commisar said with a sly smile

"We're gonna draw them out then Commisar" inquiries Legate Cantz stroking his moustache

The Commisar nodded and laid out his plan.

"Right we sure the Vox message will be intercepted by the Tau" said Cantz.

The vox operator nodded and pressed the transmit button.

"Sir we intercepted a Imperial transmission. it says a landslide has trapped their force on the east of the city beyond the outskirts in the forest. It also state's that they have information on the numbers of men and armour i also strongly suggest we kill them in the greater goods name." said the Operator to Commander Zu'lu the commander raised his hand the operator nodded and left the room.

The trap had worked and unknown to the large Tau force which had now left the main city and was in the outskirts. Unknown to them was that there was a Huntsman with a Vox to shot master Marrimek.

"Sir they have now left my view and our in the outskirts square i suggest firing now this must be the whole army in the city here. Im willing to die for the emperor i know I'm in range of the missile fire please." Marrimek knew what he meant and waved to the Death Strike commander who was sitting in his cupola. The commander closed his hatch and pressed the stabilize button legs extended from the chasis and wedged in the muddy ground then he pressed a yellow button which raised the missile carrier, then a red button the emplacement was already locked on the missile fired its thruster and the carrier let go with the holders and the heads of guardsmen followed it into the sky.

Fire warriors moved through the outskirts with XV8 battle suits and other forces. The first they heard of a strike was a thruster another fire warrior looked up to see a silver missile with a blue shining tip fly towards them, before he could scream it struck.

The 6th and the Brothers of Solitude waited until after it struck the whole Tau force and the surrounding area became either melted pools of armour or ashes the ground was scorched black any buildings were simply gone.

Both Imperial forces ran over to the city their armour spurting mud up with their tracks.

"Commander Zu'lu our forces aren't responding and our pathfinders report seeing a blue flash on the horizon." said the captain

"A blue flash you say" Zu'lu turned on his heel as he spoke.

"yes"

"Hmm, it's imperial so it might be a death strike missile. No it must be how many are still alive."

"um sir we used three quarters on that 'attack' and the rest are recruits or path finders"

"get them to us in the palace we're gonna hold for as long as possible."

"okay"

Zu'lu put his helmet on and left the room the Captain in toe.

The gates of the palace could withstand a volcano cannon from a storm lord and the Tau weren't letting the Vakerian engineers get close and the spacemarines were just getting into postion.

"Leroy how long until your assault marines and land speeders are in position to jump over the wall then the wall opens to a large garden then the palace is a few hundred meters in the middle of the gardens. Get your men in open the gate the rest can follow." said Fadro

The space marine nodded and held his ear piece after a minute he said

"My brothers are ready to strike"

"Good"

Fergo saw lots of plumes of smoke fly in the air and over the wall followed by land speeders then a second after the first crash the gate started to open, running through the mass men he was the guard to get inside the palace grounds and he was already firing at a running Tau which dropped down in a second he ran behind a wreck of a arbites chimera and fired at two path finders who just shot a space marine out of the ground the marine was dazzled but alive Fergo killed the path finders then reloaded.

Zu'lu flew in the sky his battlesuit armed with all possible weapons he could have he saw a land speeder just land beyond the battle, turning off his thrusters he dropped from the sky straight on the land speeder he shot the driver in the head which leaned on the controls spinning the land speeder but Zu'lu was already gone and locking on to a Leman Russ punisher with his missile lauchers he fired hitting the engine block the tank blew up.

Leroy saw the Tau commander take out the Lemen Russ with ease and run to a guardsmen squad which was looking in the opposite way, teleporting in front of the rushing Tau he brought his assault cannon to bear strafing the ground the Tau drew a sword from its armour and jumped in front of Leroy, Leroy used his power claws in his left hand to slice the Tau but it jumped back then clashed with the power claw.

Fadro reloaded his bolt pistol and fired at another Tau bringing it down, turning to his right he saw Leroy fight with a Tau the batrle looked even so left it.

Fergo used the butt of his broken las gun against a fire warrior drew his las pistol he shot another then he saw the Space Marine captain get a hit by the Tau but the Captain's terminator armour stopped it from breaching the Tau spun and cut the leg joint of the captain he fell in the same action he cut the assault cannon in half and the lower arm off the captain.

Leroy looked up his HUD registering his loses he knew he was about to see the emperor but he didn't all he heard was the dying groan of the Tau its limbs went weak and its body went to a kneeling position a power sword protruded from its chest. The limp body fell off the sword and in front of Leroy, Fergo put his sword back in its sheath and looked at the Captain. The Tau surrendered after the death of their commander.

"Private Dejak Fergo 1st company 8th platoon Commisar" said Fergo saluting.

Leroy looked at the guard his brown hair just below regulation and his 6ft 8 phisical appearance , his voice was a low tone but gravely just like the soil from his home planet, his sheath was covered in oil and blood from the Tau commander and his ankle length trench coat drenched in mud and blood.

"well private you have shown great courage to run into the open with only a sword and a pistol and go up against a Tau, but if you didnt the Captain wouldn't be here now" said Fadro looking into Fergo's eyes he turned to Leroy who had his armour stripped and a stump for his left arm for the time being.

"Yes private i am thankful for saving my life so i can fight more of the FOUL XENOS this day and the next and i believe that is not all the Commisar wishes to say to you" shouted Leroy who sat down on a chair which creaked under his weight.

"Yes Fergo i want to promote you to Questor and you wont be leading a platoon or squad you will be the regiments one man army." said Fadro

Fergo sat there silent before saying thank you after the commisar said why and to go to the armoury he left with the three golden pips on his armour to signify his new rank.

"Officer armour, Officer Trench Coat, Questor peak cap, camo cloak and belt now sir which weapons would you like we have, Las guns from every other guard regiments, plasma weapons, melta weapons, auto guns, chainswords, power weapons, pistols of any sort." said the quarter master speaking gleefully.

"such choice, i think ill go for a auto gun, chainsword, las pistol x two and as may frag, frak grenades i can carry" replied Fergo the quarter master returned with his weapons and set them on the counter. Fergo singed the paper worked returned his old kit and he got changed into his new uniform of rank and headed back to the Pre fab buildings that had been set by engineers and went into his own private room and went to sleep.
